I was wondering how some of you ladies dress. As I've been learning more about how I've been doing most things in my life to impress others and men, I am starting to revamp my entire wardrobe. I notice that many women wear form fitting outfits, especially now that summer is coming around. Personally I have never felt comfortable wearing really tight clothes. Emotionally it makes me feel exposed when my clothes are sticking to my body, and physically I just like there to be space between fabric and my skin.
Even jeans feel physically uncomfortable for me to wear. I don't want to wear them anymore! I started wearing leggings more and I don't enjoy the feeling in them either. I mean, do you ladies actually enjoy wearing jeans or leggings? I see men wearing baggy pants all the time and they look extremely comfortable. Not like gross baggy, just cozy and stylish looking sweatpants or activewear pants. So I've been thinking.. do women truly enjoy wearing form fitting clothes? Or if we look deeper within, do we do it to get attention and validation? And to please the males?
I imagine women dress this way because they enjoy their bodies and want people to look at their bodies so others can enjoy them too. But why do our bodies need to be enjoyed by others?
How would you describe your style?
Comfortable, elegant, feminine - I wear dresses 95% of the time.
I have comfortable dresses, sexy dresses, modest dresses, work appropriate dresses, loungewear dresses, and more.
After the past three years I realized that pants and jeans were so uncomfortable for me (and made my body appear more masculine and restricted than I liked) so dresses are the way to go. I always feel put together and comfortable when I'm wearing a dress and can make it work appropriate with a cardigan or a blazer or casual depending on the shoe/accessories. Plus I don't see many women wearing dresses to be comfortable (mostly lounge wear) so I tend to get compliments (sometimes nice but overall idc because I'm comfortable).
If it's something like a business formal event or a gym workout then I would probably not wear a dress but for every other situation it's my go-to.
I also wear cotton undergarments to increase the comfort factor and everything feels more breathable.
