Just like the title says: help me come up with a list of activities that would be considered high value, either for a potential partner or for a woman trying to level herself up. Believe there was a post about this in the old sub, so I’d love to recreate it. Some examples I can think of right away include
exercise
meditation
cooking healthy meals
taking a class or pursuing higher education
volunteering
spending time with friends
any activity that puts one closer to a long term goal
learning a new language
practicing a musical instrument
What else can you think of?
Proper sleeping schedule. Knowledge of financial management and law.
I would view "spending time with friends" with caution.
Do they actually do something productive or nice together (e.g. pursuing a hobby, tinkering together, talking about meaningful topics, taking trips or other doing enriching activities...)? Great.
Do they just hang out on the couch for hours and drink, smoke and "Bro" around? No, thanks.
There is a huge difference between a man who passively "hangs out" with his "Bros" for hours with their only activity being playing videogames and watching dumb stuff on their phones and one who goes hiking with his friends, cooks or restores an old car with them or something. Of course you relax together sometimes. But if that's all they do... nah.
Yes! These are great. Volunteering would be my #1 so I will add organizing a fundraiser for a non-profit. I have met a lot of friends and learned more about local organizations along the way.
Being in nature. It is scientifically proven to improve your mood. We are made to be in nature.
Basic sewing skills! Instead of throwing away a favorite shirt/pants cause it has a hole you can easily patch it up.
Reading non-fiction, especially helpful books that you'll be able to incorporate in your life.
I would say reading and writing. Agreed , it's a little less physically intensive but it helps you grow and it's like a workout for the brain
I like to read philosophy and learn practical skills
Healthy nutrition classes

I think another thing to add would be to make sure you have something you do purely for fun! I realised I used to always associate hobbies with a direct goal (e.g. to make more money) and while it is nice to have goal oriented hobbies, sometimes it just gets draining/becomes another competition. My current hobby is teaching little kids and I love it! Their perspectives and the way they view the world is refreshing.
