Hello Queens!!
It’s time for our Sunday reflections.☺️
This is a dedicated post each week reflecting on how our last week goals went.
Please feel to talk about the following:
Reflect on how it went with working on goals
Your “win” for the week
Your “speed bump/challenge” this past week (relating to goal or not)
Strategy(s) to address challenges/goal
Stay tuned for tomorrow (Mondays) post where we can list our updated/new goals for the week ☺️
First of all, I wanna thank you, ladies. Y'all are so kind and supportive 😊 My goal was to read everyday before sleeping and I did it! On Friday I was super tired and only read like 3 pages, but it still counts. The bonus goal was to go to sleep till 10:30 PM, which I did most days. It's a win for me. This was a very tiring week, but having a clear and simple goal really helped me to focus and not get frustrated with all of the things I had no energy to do. Also, maybe the book I was reading wasn't really working. Maybe next week I'll try a different one.
Some short notes! 1. I so so enjoyed working with goals this week! Thank you FDS for being a place I can find some support. 2. Definitely a win would be sleeping earlier. There were moments where I wouldve gone on my phone and killed time before bed but I had the goal so I didn’t! 3. It was challenging to workout for as many days as I said. Also I spent more time on social media during the day than I would’ve liked. 4. I think I will allow myself to do yoga as exercise since intense workouts can feel like a lot to get started on sometimes. Hopefully getting that movement in after a day of sitting at my desk for work will be better and more conducive to a better afternoon. I’ve also wrote down a few tasks I need to get accomplished for the week, I think the goal will just be to do at least one a day to not overwhelm myself. Overall, much better week!!
All right ladies so my goals this week we’re to spend extra time before and after my placement to get work done. I wrote down a coffee shop which happened one time but I found that actually coming in earlier in the day and just staying later was actually better. I worked really hard this week and I’m so happy for that. I have 2 win this week. The first is that I have made strides in my clinical placement. I’m trying not to rely on compliments but it felt validating from the parents of the pediatric patients I work with to say how much positive changes they’ve seen in their children in these past month. It was also the first time I didn’t notice my clinical supervisor observing my appts. I’m noticing that I’m getting better at my skills and I’m also being kind to myself that I’m still learning too! Also my second win is just seeing so many changes in my outlook towards men and relationships. I’ve felt truly in my heart happy to be single and not care at all to be in a relationship. Yesterday I went to the church community bbq and the last time they had it was in summer 2019 right before the pandemic. At that time I was in my highest pickme moments where I was sad that I was single and just lamenting that “no man is approaching me” and “what is wrong with me” and “I hate being single”. To come back as a new women to this space and just enjoy the live music, food and take my 10 year old younger cousin and her friends out for ice cream and spend time with my family and talk with others was such a great experience. I just felt so grateful to be where I am and the place that I am in life. Thank you ladies for all of your posts and this space too!! ❤️❤️
I should have written on the previous Sunday post. 1. & 2. Main goal - I did an amazing job on the test work for job offer but didn't got reply about the results yet. - This week I had a good consultation about career advice - Called a former employer and we will meet next week. - Helped my dad to choose for my mom good sports smart band to keep track of her health 3. Speed bumps. - My C-PTSD. 4. Gotta probably get back on the full dose of my meds.
Last week I didn't hit my step goal every day or follow my marathon training plan entirely because my knee was acting up (surgery last year), BUT I did manage to apply for a bunch of jobs and get in touch with several recruiters! I also found an apartment! So I've got to edit my budgeting goal to save up for the next two months until I move in.
Something that helped me this week was not setting too many goals, which helped me focus more on the ones I did set, which freed up time for job and apartment hunting :)
