Hello Queens!!

This is a dedicated post each week reflecting on how our last week goals went.
Please feel to talk about the following:
Reflect on it how went with working on goals
Your “win” for the week
Your “speed bump/challenge” this past week (relating to goal or not)
Strategy(s) to address challenges/goal
Stay tuned for tomorrow (Mondays) post where we can list our updated/new goals for the week ☺️
Hi Queens. Another week... 1. General reflections: I've done a MOUNTAIN of work in preparation for my challenge and I am just about (so close to) ready to pull the trigger and go for it! Wish me luck!! 2. Win is the above. + also having sent an email that required a lot of courage to set some serious boundaries. It was not very well received, but I sent it, and that was a big win for me.
3. Speed bump/challenge this week: Same as always 😅 (see a pattern emerging...). Overworked and thinly spread. 4. Strategy to address no 3: Prioritise sleep, breathing, hourly peace pockets, gentle stretching, baths and REST. Strategy for goal: keep moving forward, no matter what!
So this past week was one of busiest week I’ve had in my program. It was the last week of my final placement and so I spent countless hours trying to soak in as much as much as could before finishing. My win is the amount of hard work I put into the placement. My clinical supervisor/ preceptor said that I was one of the hardest working student she’s ever had (in her 40 year career). I’m proud of myself for giving my all. My second win is working on cultivating friendships and setting aside time to do that. I was spontaneous today and decided to meet up with a new friend for a picnic at the park. Old me would have backed out and said “I was busy”. But now I’ve realized that I’ve been self-sabotaging friendships and potential friendships by not investing my time into it. All in all I’m happy but extremely nervous entering into job hunting. Also my future bring up in the air about where I would like to practice. I’m working through this right now with my therapist and career counsellor so I’m ready to “feel the fear and do it anyway”.
Got a lot done this week:
Committed to meal prepping last week and this week--and actually did it! The goal is to go back to eating nutritiously within my TDEE Mon-Fri, having Saturday be a free-to-eat whatever day, and Sunday being my fasting day.
Created budgeting and savings plans for the next 2 months. The goal is to go on sabbatical for the entire months of November and December. This is do-able if I delay gratification and stick to my savings plan.
Studied and received my Hubspot certification. 1 certification down, 2 more to go. The goal is to skill up since I will be transitioning to a new career path after my sabbatical.
Planned out my social calendar for the rest of the year. I planned out golfing practice, weekend meetups, art projects, attending the ballet and opera, going to a gala, and a NYC trip. The goal is to do things that don't involve eating out and binging on netflix.
What I need to work on:
Consistency in my language learning. I'm doing duolingo and studying Spanish. The goal is at least 30 mins a day. I need to focus on completing this in the mornings rather than in the evenings
Reading. I'm capable of reading 50-100 pages a day before bed and just need to do it.
Transitioning off of reddit. It's hard because it's one of the only social media platforms that I use to keep up with things. However, I don't like the people there and I'm in a stage with developing IRL relationships and growing a network is more important to me than maintaining an online presence.
1. I've been working on my goals (job hunting and leveling up my skills) dispute turbulent filled with family drama week.
3. At some point I underestimated how taxing some toxic family dynamics would be on me.
2 & 4 My wins and implemented strategies:
I've realized that I need to be more compassionate and understanding toward myself in order to be able to come back to my sences.
Fixed the lighting in my room by repairing the drapes for the windows. Looks beautiful and now I can finetune the lighting according to my needs and sensitivity of my eyes.
