Hello Queens!!!
Thank yall so much for your interest in this thread and for allowing this to happen (thank you @Astria for pinning these posts 😊). I’m so excited for us all to support each other on our level up journeys.
For those of you have may not have seen my original post. We are starting an accountability (level up group) in the FDS forum. Many of us have goals that we are working on and what better place for Queens to support Queens than right here!! Also anyone not familiar with accountability groups here is an article discussing its benefits https://www.developgoodhabits.com/accountability-benefits/
This is open to everyone and below are a couple of ground rules
This is a non-judgement free space. We want ppl to feel comfortable sharing what goals they are working on. If commenter feels that a goal someone is working on is too big/ difficult to attain please provide constructive feedback (no shaming) on how they can improve their goal
Please start a new comment when posting your goal and then ppl reply on to that persons goal. It makes it easier to be able to track it 🙂
A new thread will be posted every Monday morning and another new post on Sunday will be “reflections of the past week” where we will discuss the wins, challenges and action plans for Monday. So feel free to comment anytime throughout the week.
Goals can be in any area of your life that you’re wanting to level up. Some examples are health/wellness, career, school, friendships, hobbies etc
To start, please feel free to list your goals/what you want others to hold yourselves accountable!!
The areas I’m focusing on is health/wellness, friendships, hobbies and spirituality —> consistently eating breakfast every morning (Rationale- I’m working on stabilizing my blood sugar and I notoriously will skip breakfast 🫢 to help me with my goal I saw new recipes that I’m inspired to make and I have an alarm on my phone to remind me to eat) —> tracking my basal body temperature (I’ve recently came across fertility awareness method- as I’m interested in the future practicing a natural birth control method). I haven’t been consistent temping every morning so I have an alarm set on my phone and the thermometer on my bed side table to use instead of far from reach) —> reaching out to 1 girlfriend/woman every week to do some sort of activity/catch-up (I’m trying to cultivate more women friends and so I want to intentionally create space to hang out and build new friendships. I’m hoping this will help foster better connections —> Do 2-3 Zumba dance classes (I love dance and I’m trying to get back into shape to hopefully start reaching in the fall. I also feel more alive and happier attending classes and so I want to be more consistent with taking classes. I’ll do this buy signing up for classes today based on my schedule to make sure that I do them —> write in my prayer journal at least 3 nights a week( again something that grounds and makes me happy but want to do more of)
1. Diversify my investments - I have more than 5 prospectus to read. Target to finish all this week. 2. Minimum 3 times gym a week. (Maintaining) 3. Apply new job (Unsure cause my current one is actually not bad) 4. Go church this week (Have been missing sunday church)
1- Pass my designation exam and put a study plan together. It’s 5 hours long and I seriously need to study and stop slacking 2- Keep working towards my fitness goals. I look amazing already but always want/push myself for more 3- Book a fun trip after I pass my exam 4- Sleep earlier than I do now and meditate more
I want to read every day, and practice better vocabulary in regular conversation. I feel like being at home during the pandemic ruined my attention span and small talk skills. 🙈
I’m concentrating on making new friendships (quality ones) and I’m doing 2 gym classes a week. It’s my second week doing the classes. Yoga and spinning. Great progress today as I got chatting to a lovely woman at yoga today. I really enjoyed the conversation and we had a few laughs too. Hopefully I’ll see her again. Not expecting anything but it’s really brightened my day and made me feel more optimistic :)
My first goal this week is to count my calories and avoid alcohol. Second goal is to finish 2 creative projects that are current WIP's. Been beating myself up about how long it's taken me to finish them.
I want to keep my lifestyle healthy and lose weight for my upcoming eu trip but I want to make the healthy food habit as a lifestyle not just a temporary goal to attain. As iam eating too much of sugar 2) study for my licensing exams 3 hours a day . 🥰🥰🤑
I want to commit to working out 3x/week.
I'm keeping it simple! I want to cook one simple dish a day. I spent the past few months eating out and my gut paid the price. Never again.
I love the idea! I am currently working on my MSc. Dissertation and my advisor is not the micromanaging kind, so I tend to leave everything for later. Ends up I haven’t done anything on the last month. I got covid in the meanwhile and I think it helped me to procrastinate 😩
I'm trying to limit my sugar and alcohol consumption. I just found a few no sugar dessert recipes that I want to try making. I have a big project at work that I need to finish by the end of the month so my goal is to finish half of it this week and the other half next week. I recently started going to a sculpt yoga class on Saturday mornings. I want to keep focusing on upper body and core workouts so I can feel stronger and have better posture.
Areas I am focusing on: Work - trying to hustle and get into higher paying positions, trying to take up more space in meetings with suggestions - I would like to make as much or more as my male coworkers Life: Trying to establish new friendships and explore old ones Health: Currently trying to eat more salads and get myself away from the work desk
My main goal right now is adding a new client for my small consulting business and losing weight. I added a lot of weight during the pandemic due to comfort eating, bad mental health and been sedentary. I've started therapy and I have been working on losing weight. I've lost 20 lbs so far. But I have a long way to go. I workout out four times a week - twice at the gym. And twice by myself at home (mainly running). I've started cold pitching companies. I lost a client 2 months ago. I'm hoping to make progress there. Wish me luck, ladies :)
I'm late to this but I've been avoiding all things internet and social media to focus on my studies. Continuing education at 48 years old is not easy! I'm getting up at 5am every morning so I can get 2 hours of course and study time in every day before the noise starts and I have to workout and do my full time job.
Moving onto the reflection part, I'd like to advise everyone to make sure to set your boundaries with everyone and watch for saboteurs. I think back to all of the men in my life who did everything they could to prevent me from being a success and having an education - starting with my father and brothers, ex husband, boyfriends, co-workers, bosses, etc. Now I've got 'friends' who are trying to manipulate me to drop every thing and call or visit them. Every minute of my day is taken and even the time I just spend doing fuck all is just as important as my work and education. The high value people reach out and when I tell them what I'm doing they encourage me and understand I don't have time to talk. The low value people act out for attention. My phone is always on silent - one after I told him I just don't have time to call (no one can get off the phone with him in under 3 hours) then started calling, sending text messages, dm'ing on Instagram and Facebook. Fuck that. I'm not happy with a stagnant life and I will cut out anyone who tries to hold me back.
It's the same as when you're trying to mind your diet and physical health and people say 'Oh come on, ONE donut won't hurt' or 'Don't go to the gym, go to the bar/coffee shop/restaurant/etc. and hang out with me! Don't let people distract you and pull you down with them. They are selfish and only want to hold you back from being better than they are. The time you spend with others is only valuable if they are valuable people. Reaching your full potential should always be the priority and everyone in your life should know that without question.
Now back to my studies... Have a lovely Saturday everyone ))
I love this concept, but I wonder if anyone besides us will remember our goals from week to week, making us accountable only to ourselves. It seems to always come back to that, but I've been single for years so it's pretty much my default anyway.
Short term goal (1 year, started this week): Get back on the daily caloric tracking wagon. I was really good about it for a 6 month stretch, so I know it can be done, but it feels harder this go round. I'm limiting to 1400/day, reasonable for my age and height/weight. My metabolism has showed to a crawl in my 40s, and learning dietary discipline as an adult is tough. I'm tracking with the MyFitnessPal app, which I love, and using a meal delivery service for dinner so only have to worry about planning meals for breakfast and lunch. Once that's under control (estimate one month for it to become habitual) I'm going to start rolling exercise into the mix 5 days per week. I'm using this ramp up month to check out different video routines on a fitness channel I subscribed to. I've read a lot about the efficacy of weight training for body sculpting, but getting to a gym may be a bigger goal down the road. Right now it just seems like extra time I'd have to build into my morning for getting to the gym and back.
Long term goal (3 years): Reach $100k salary. I'm getting there-- switched fields 2+ years ago to one more aligned with my cognitive abilities, and started a new job a couple months ago that pays more but seems easier than my last. They like me and my income goal seems doable if I can maintain performance. I feel like I can.
Drink more water
Workout 3 times a week
Wake up earlier (I seriously need tips on this lol).
If you're watching your blood sugar, this is a really good, easy & affordable recipe for keto waffles. You can make a ton & then toss them in the freezer (in a good freezer bag, obvi). They are super filling too. https://www.eatingonadime.com/keto-waffles-recipe/
I’m new to FDS and new to this website, so wish I’d been around when it started on reddit. I’ve started listening to the pod. I have heaps of goals but for now I’m wanting to get up earlier in the mornings and get into a good routine with a healthy breakfast. I want my mornings to go smoother with the kids. I have started therapy again weekly as well.
I have been struggling to maintain goals this week due to a mental health dip. I am making time to rest this weekend to get back up to speed. My current fitness goal is to increase my cardiac endurance to a 5min row session before fatigue. Currently at 3min fatigue. Started at :30 😀👍🏼 Training 3x week and increasing time/intensity every 2 weeks or when my body will allow. Good luck to you all on your goals and the daily grind! Remember that rest is also important to progress. 🤍
