Hello Queens!!!
It’s Monday and you know what that means….a new week to work on goals!!
It is such a pleasure to have this space and group to hold each other accountable!
For anyone not familiar or needs a refresher below are the ground rules of the thread.
This is a non-judgement free space. We want ppl to feel comfortable sharing what goals they are working on. If commenter feels that a goal someone is working on is too big please provide constructive feedback (no shaming) on how they can improve their goal
Please start a new comment when posting your goal and then ppl reply on to that persons goal. It makes it easier to be able to track it
A new thread will be posted every Monday morning and another new post on Sunday will be “reflections of the past week” where we will discuss the wins, challenges and action plans for Monday. So feel free to comment anytime throughout the week.
Goals can be in any area of your life that you’re wanting to level up. Some examples are health/wellness, career, school, friendships, hobbies etc
My goal this week is to meditate. Would love to do it everyday, but I’ll set an accessible goal of meditating three times this week.
My goal is to start resistance training again. I will make this my goal every week if I have to.
I stopped my participation on the thread last month, but I kept being accountable to myself, so that's good!
Still on my one-official-goal-per-week plan.
First week's goal of "electronics off by 9 p.m., in bed by 10 p.m., up at 6 a.m." is going much better. I had trouble the first couple of weeks, but my body has adjusted now, and I'm living the Morning Person life I was meant for. It was a little difficult getting people to realize they can't call me after 9 p.m., but eventually they got on board! Looking ahead (as a northern-hemisphere person) I'm thinking my plan might get more difficult in the months ahead, as it will no longer be getting light as I'm waking up. I'm trying to think of things I can do in my home that will make getting up easier on cold dark winter mornings. Totally up for ideas if anyone has any! (So far I'm thinking -- buy more "smart bulbs" (I have two so far) and set them to gently come on about 15 minutes before my alarm -- have them fully on by the time I get out of bed, so the house is not dark -- build a cheery energetic morning playlist and turn it on right away -- not sure about other ideas yet!)
Second goal of "building a budget" is not going very well. I hate financial stuff. But I really need this, so even when I can't manage the entire budget, I'm at least cutting back on spending. After all, Ben Franklin said that the way to wealth is two-fold -- make as much money as you can, and spend as little as you can! (I'm paraphrasing.) Of course there are complications, it isn't so simple, but at least every day I can play "How long can I go without spending any money?" and that keeps me away from the coffee shop and the thrift store. Of course there are things I can't control; I still have to buy gas so I can go to work. But there are things I can control somewhat. I have to buy food, but I can certainly look for sales, etc.
I've been taking a self-paced online class to catch up on an area of study I've long neglected, and I'm really enjoying it. So, this week, in addition to continuing Goals 1 and 2, I am going to work more often on this course (I'm about 25% through, so far) and try to finish by the end of next month.
Over the weekend I went out with my friend, who brought her male coworker along. Ended up making friendly conversation with him and he started to whine about how his fiancee dumped him. Anyways turns out he had never bought her an engagement ring. I played the dumb fox like huh you didn't give her a ring? And basically my friend and I were like wtf come on man how can you say you were engaged but you didn't even buy her a ring?
I'm proud of myself for actually going out and having some fun, and I'm also proud of myself for calling it out a little. He was trying to act like a cool dude haha.
As far the rest of this week I'm just focusing on work and getting my house deep cleaned. I deleted OLD again because I started feeling a lot of the "ick" after going out with my friends
Going to keep it simple since I have a lot of balls in the air at the moment:
-run 3x this week
-stick to bedtime routine (read before bed, meditate)
-minimize mindless scrolling (i have an ebook for downtime at work, but i might just delete apps off of my phone because i'm still tempted by them when waiting in line, stretching, etc)
Have a great week ladies!
I want to change my entire life, lol. Can anybody recommend books?

I joined a gym for the first time in 4 years and worked out 3 times as my goal was :-) an hour to an hour and a half in the gym, about half cardio and half strength training switching upper and lower body. hoping to keep it up. I have been progressively less sore after each workout and it's just the beginning of this new undertaking so I am pretty excited. It's a huge step.
I want to eventually try fasting for 16 hr/day as I have maybe 15-20 extra pounds to lose. gave it a try for the past 3 days but I always end up dizzy and shakey before the 12 hour mark. (advice appreciated!) Maybe I tried too much at once. Will attempt again once my body gets used to regular exercise again.
my goal this week is to continue to incorporate youtube stretching exercises in my morning routine and eventually graduate to yoga. Also stop doom scrolling the internet and start using my ereader more. Just checked out "The House in the Cerulean Sea" knowing nothing about it. Maybe Ill start it tonite.
