I have a huge crush on my friend. We're both bi and we've been friends for about a year. She broke up with her bf of two years about a month ago and still seems really sad about it. He broke her heart. It wasn't a healthy relationship because they would always break up with each other and get back together. And he was terrible at communicating, would get mad at her for wanting to vent about her feelings, and sometimes he'd ghost her for two weeks with no communication. He would cancel dates a lot too. Definitely what you would call a LVM.
If I asked her out, would it come off as extremely rude and disrespectful because I'm not giving her time to mourn? Obviously I would ask her out two months or so from now, not right away because I know she needs time. If she says no, hopefully we can still be friends but I would be kinda sad. If she says yes, do you think she would actually like me or just be using me as a rebound?
A month is way too early in my opinion even if he was shit. She still needs time to grieve and see all his red flags. My best advice for people is to wait six months to a year to start dating again after a tough break up
