So I've seen a lot of online discussion about the falling population in first world countries as the old systems need new humans to come in and prop up infrastructure and look after the growing elderly population (kind of like a multi-marketing scheme because you always need more new people to come in at the bottom of the pyramid).
To maintain a steady population a woman needs to have 2.1 children. A mother on benefits/welfare is generally seen as negative and often used in political talking points against them. These days you need two incomes to have a good standard of living.
All of this to say that women don't win here.
