Fun thing about Fight Club. The movie is actually all about repressed homosexuality, and how that repression results in over the top performance of toxic masculinity. This is not only obvious to anyone who has studied the film from an analytical perspective, but ALSO confirmed by the director. You can really, REALLY mess up Fight Club Bros with this fact XD XD XD
I believe there's nothing inherently wrong with movies like american psycho or fight club, rather it's how someone interprets those kind of media. There's a difference between seeing american psycho as a satire/comedic commentary about materialism and class, and seeing it as a movie about a sigma chad murdering cringe women and beta men. Similarly with fight club, scrotes might see it as an example on how to act when you don't like your environment (which is becoming a terrorist), while the movie's message in actuality is about consumerism and radicalization. The characters don't like the consumerist society and end up dealing with that view/belief by becoming terrorists and wrecking havoc on the world, which is portrayed in the movie as a bad thing. I enjoyed both movies, and especially Joker is one of my favorites. I just really hate the male dumbasses that ignore their message completely just to project their own redpill views on them.
Same, I like the Fight Club movie. The most interesting commentary I've heard about it came from a black guy on a podcast. He watched it and said he wasn't into it because it felt it wasn't meant for him. That it was all about white men angst, or something along those lines. I kinda agree. It does seem to focus on a particular type of middle class white guy, who isn't trailer trash but is not rich. Lots to talk about that movie.
It’s more telling of the personal values of the male you’re watching the movie with. Is he identifying WITH the dysfunctional character? Then next the fuck out of him.
an ex of mine would insist I watch things he liked and it got more unbearable over time. Being quizzed on every detail of what just happened on the screen made me closed off to even attempting to enjoy the movie or tv show or podcast or whatever. And then anything I wanted to watch or show him got an eyeroll. It was very stupid, but just another way that a lot of resentment built up between us.

Or, just turn down wasting hours of time on something you don't want to do :)
Or just don't perform the emotional labor of watching and feigning interest in a man movie you have no interest in watching.
There ya go.
I love how they played on this in the Barbie movie 😂
"OH is that the god father?" 😂
Why would you wanna do that, are you gonna get paid?

I like both of those movies and read the books as a teen because I was too young to watch the movies 😅. Couldn't finish American Psycho, too brutal.
