I moved into an apartment and they had one of those crappy, completely plastic toilet seats that loosened up from about the first time I used it. Worthless plastic bolts that wouldn't stay tight for anything. The last thing I want to think about when I'm doing my business is that the plastic bolts will snap and I will fall off.
So I found a toilet seat on Amazon for $40, it's heavier and has metal bolts and it has been LIFE CHANGING! It doesn't move AT ALL, and it was super easy to install.
Doing your business should not be a stressful experience.

I have a good all american toilet with a nice thick toilet seat and I recently got a bidet attachment, too. Elevating your bathroom just makes your life easier. It is nice how small changes can really enhance your day-to-day.
Go crazy with it, too. My bathroom is pink and I got purple toilet cleaners so it changes the toilet water purple, too. Got the cute swan faucet and a pretty gold mirror to go with it. On my shower I have a gorgeous floral shower curtain. It’s a girly paradise! Dunno if you could change out a bunch of stuff, but decor and upgrades honestly make life so much better and we spend so much time in our bathrooms using the toilet, showering, brushing our teeth, and getting ready it’s a worthwhile room to invest in.
Yup, buy high quality versions of the things that you use often. Bed, shoes.
