Has anyone tried to start a women's-only group IRL? Something like a support group/place to discuss feminism/female-only space. Like FDS but IRL. Really curious if anyone has started anything like this where they live. I'm very interested in doing this in my city, but I would have some concerns about receiving harassment from men or pickmes.

i'm pretty sure people have tried and been served with lawsuits. women can't even walk down the street without smiling without being singled out, harassed and bullied.
i think the closest i ever got to an all-women/only-women's space was an eating disorder group, and it needed it's own office space, two licensed therapists and health insurance coverage. and at one point, i think there was a man who ended up joining.
I want to do this so bad!!!!
but I don’t know where to even begin. I don’t even know where to look to see if there’s already something like this in my city. It’s sad that we have to be worried about harassment for doing something like this though 😔
There are other types of politically-oriented separatist groups in most cities that run entirely underground. They have to organize by word-of-mouth. But they can grow into extensive and impressive networks. When I lived in a Southern city I had an opportunity to glimpse a Black-only communist network that included an anarchist commune. You would not be able to find anything about it online though.
I've always thought it would be cool as fuck to participate in an underground female-only network but I'm like so antisocial I don't have the energy to organize it.
A convent. It's the last bastion. Can we try this, starting a women-only space but then we say it's religious to keep from getting sued?
I run a meetup group for Gen X women. Not exactly what you're talking about, many don't know what rad fem is, but it's my way of starting a female community of women my age. But I would love to do meetups with the ladies of FDS.
My female only gym got sued. in Pakistan a girl only school had many students dead because the men don't believe in female education. A female only dojo in Iraq where women learn boxing get death threats so a woman only space is hard to keep. That's why I believe in female separation.
I guess the only way to start one would be to pick out friends who are radfem leaning (or atleast not libfems who NEED men) and make a decentering males group where you guys would hang out and just never bring up males (unless they need to like they are in danger or something).
It is tough to find explicitly radfem spaces but historic women's civic organizations are a great way to get connected with other women IRL. Junior league, league of women voters, and the like - since they have more of a "conservative/ladies who lunch" rep they're usually reliable female-only. I've had good luck taking this path so far.
I want to start a consciousness raising group in my city but it's heavily infested with libfems, pickmes, TRAs, and handmaidens:(
