The overturning of Roe v. Wade has been coming for a long time, yet it still hit me like a freight train. Gender based violence has not ruined my life, but the men who perpetrated those acts against me certainly tried. The overturning of Roe v. Wade was meant to empower them and says my health and my life dont matter in this country. I sat in a busy intersection with my sisters in my city on Friday and now I wonder what to ask for from my school, how can they support women and women’s rights? What actionable support can we demand from our school and workplaces?
I love you all and I stand with you. Our bodies, our choices. No justice, no peace.
I doubt organizations will look after women. It's too expensive for them to bother w anything other than fake woke activism stances. Until the gov't offers big incentives for organizations to provide for women they are very unlikely to do so of their own accord
Demanding comprehensive healthcare w little to no charge to benefit from as an employee. Excellent maternity leave, options for mothers to work from home or have hybrid schedules, daycare provided/subsidized close to work building
We should boycott any and all companies that do not offer their women excellent maternity leave, take sexual harassment seriously, pay equal wages and treat their female workers fairly- no ifs ands or buts about it.
Sadly, I do not believe that institutions care. Not even the ones with pink/other washed anything. Even some of the ones headed by women. Their bottom lines and setting us back to the 50s for the sake of capital is the true religion.
