Anything happening in your cities on March 8? Usually there's a march or picket in the city center organized by women's rights activists on some causes like Mahsa Amini case or petition for open abuser registry.
We have a women's march protesting violence against women and calling for the ratification of the Istanbul Convention here (it's an utter shame that our country still hasn't done that). My bestie and I are going 💪
Burning things down will not help any movement. And oftentimes the people who come to protests and do those things are actually controlled opposition who were hired to make the movement look bad.
Lol. I remember this one time a guy ended up speaking upto 40 minutes in a 1 hour women’s meet. I am not sure but I distinctively remember my first job had batches of us new joiners and they sat us all down to state facts like how men were more likely to commit suicide in our company. God those people are awful but they definitely helped up recognise patterns in the corporate world. How about finding someone who volunteers about their experience. I am sure a lot of retired women would be organising such events in your locality. Start with your library. There’s no point targeting IWD only. It’s a regular work in progress.
a talk with Delores Huerta on being a Woman Activist. 😴
i would prefer a city-wide boycott of all male-owned businesses and a public shaming of male politicians…think i could organize it? ⚔️

Educating women of tomorrow to do better in Stem especially coding. Hope that makes a difference.
