The factory style school system we have hasn’t changed in a century back from when it was first created, and it was created with men in mind, because women weren’t even allowed to get past high school. In fact, my grandma’s step father kept trying to keep her from school after the 8th grade as was normal back in the late 1920s. There may not be enough recess these days for boys and girls, but sitting in a classroom and learning from books and the chalk board have been done for more than a century. There are always excuses made for males and their lack of discipline and having to have everything rigged against women so that they can succeed. And here we are once again. Even little boys in 1st grade thought they should be smarter than me because they had a penis. It doesn’t work that way, though, despite centuries of male oppression. Given the chance, women are smarter than men and work harder. Hell, I passed US Army Jumpmaster School before my husband did, and we were in the same class. What was the difference? I actually studied, and he didn’t. I suppose Army schools aren’t designed for men either?😂
It’s propaganda. I did a past post about it. Men have been slowly doing worse at school since women and BIPOC people were allowed to attend post secondary schools and since high school became more than a joke for woman before they became baby factories.
Men and boys do poorly due to a combination of a) men just don’t try as hard (most likely due to a superiority complex) and b) men get turned off by anything where they think “too many” women are involved (again, superiority complex but this time with extra misogyny). They think an equal split of 50% women is too many, yet universities worldwide are struggling to keep a 50/50 ratio of men & women because more women apply and more women have significantly better grades.
What’s happening is that it has slowly become “gay” and “feminine” to take education seriously. They did all these studies to see why men are failing at life and not getting degrees, but the real reason is men’s own homophobia, misogyny, and racism is what’s shooting them in the foot.
Separate boys schools might actually help because they’ll feel special and superior again, but good luck getting funding to make them public schools and good luck getting male teachers. I think we should just let men fail horribly and make it illegal for colleges and universities to lower the bar for male applicants:
I don't think it'll ever happen nowadays due to views on what constitutes gender, but girls function better in all girls schools, and boys function better in all boys schools.
