I am thinking this is accurate. The word used in the title is the clue. It's referring to genealogy passing down through lines of women. Not necessarily women -led societies. Within that frame of reference, Florida has an Indigenous tribe long ago that did that. Of course, besides Americas, Africa has many on its continent. And well, many ancient tribes all over the globe were such.
