A valuable conversation.
Some key points that were share/stated/covered:
Women will either be the victim, or the villain. Which will you choose?
The importance and value of supportive and protective environments, particularly in the film/tv industry/workplace.
Interesting to note how Heigl has a 'speak up at any cost' attitude, while Pompeo seems to have more of a 'change it from within (the system)' attitude. Both seemed to be very rooted in their power.
Stating plainly that the (film/tv) industry is exploitative in nature
Successful people/women will be disliked. ie if you are going to successful, an dhighly paid, prepare/expect to be hated.
Their strength is evident. I like how they brought up the 'pick me' lines and how Ellen fought it.
They even talked about pick mes - ha.
And if you don;t know the context re Heigl's, part of it was that years a go when Heigl expressed some opinions while working on Grey's, she was brutalised for it.
If you do watch it, I'd love to hear your reflections.
