Racism is generally taken more seriously than misogyny, probably because it affects men too (and I'm saying this as a person of color).

Anything is taken more seriously than misogyny...racism, anti-lgbt, anti-Jew, anti-Muslim..etc.Women are the only group you can openly and shamelessly be hateful & bigoted toward.
Misogyny is the oldest form of oppression predating the concept and reality of racism and is going to remain even centuries after racism in practice and theory fades away. Humans will keep having sex across races due to globalization and in a 100yrs brown multi racial people would no longer be a minority. Sex on the other hand is never going away, despite the bleating lies of the gender bender cult.
And even worse misogyny is not generally seen as oppression bc of how widespread and insidious it is. It’s regarded as “cultural”. And most people are obstinate about interrogating culture bc it’s part of core identity.
Wow, thank you for posting this here. I always noticed this and it made me pretty annoyed - raceplay is somehow super untouchable for a lot of kinksters and it'll get you run out of social circles, but NO ONE looks at "rapeplay" or "ageplay" the same way. It was mindboggling to me when I still dabbled in kink communities online.
I know racism and misogyny are different topics, but the way people would not even remotely try to take a second look at their misogyny related "fetishes" made me want to yell. The only reasons I can think of why this is, is that right now racism is a major social faux pas, but being into 'edgy' types of sex is trendy right now. It is seen as trendy/openminded to be into "rapeplay or ageplay."
I was a little too young so maybe someone else has more info but it seemed to me back in the 90's and early 00's, "rape play"/etc wasn't quite so normalized yet so it still had that taboo factor, vs now after the libfem 'sex posi' movement of the 2010's.
