I agree she deserves to be punished for her crimes, but Brock Turner does deserve worse. I do feel for all the pregnant women who are incarcerated. And as a woman of color myself, I understand the frustration that women of our race often experience harsher prison sentences than most white women. Still, I can empathize with the first point that what she did is not 22x as bad as rape.

He should have been punished more, but she shouldn’t be punished less.
White collar crimes need to be taken more seriously - so often the perpetrators get a slap on the wrist while ruining the lives of millions.
Everyone is outraged that Brock was barely punished, it’s not the standard or the precedence anyone wants to set.
She deserved what she got (based on what I know about the case, having followed it intensely, read the book by the journalist who essentially unraveled the fraud, as well as listened to the podcasts, info from the whistleblowers, etc). But Brock Turner also should have gotten years in prison for rape. That's a violent crime. It ought to be treated as such. I guess if your victims are rich male shareholders and not women or people of color, it's fine, right? Frustrating. Her convictions were for wire fraud. Essentially, lying to shareholders and investors. Not that she caused harm to patients and employees, which she did. Shows exactly what's important to the "justice" system.
I do agree with the sentiments expressed in the comments, though. White collar crime (i.e. financial crimes) are rarely prosecuted to the level of petty crime. It's rarer still that these people actually face prison time. How many executives and bankers went to prison for the 2008 crash? (And worse!)
Thing is, most of the people who do this are men. Most of the people doing white collar crime are men, and most of the people doing violent crime are men. Women who are in prison are more likely to be imprisoned for petty crimes and self-defense, from what I remember from my college criminology class. (I could be wrong of course, feel free to correct me.) So yeah, I'm not going to "cheer" another woman going to prison, but I thinks she does deserve to face some sort of justice, because real people were hurt and others could have been killed from medical malpractice. Literally.
Just came here to say: I don't agree with the punishment of Elizabeth for 'endangering people's health". As long as scrotes are allowed to 'risk peoples health" by spreading Chlamydia and walk away freely. Male cheaters make women infertile every day and there is 0 punishment. Free Elizabeth!!!
Hot take: Balwani manipulated an underage Holmes' grit and ambition. And had he not have met her when she was 16/17 (and subsequently leave his wife for her) she wouldn't be in this mess.
IMO carceral punishment should be reserved for cases where someone poses a serious danger to society that cannot be prevented in any other way.
“The prison is considered so natural and so normal that it is extremely hard to imagine life without them”
“My question is, Why are people so quick to assume that locking away an increasingly large proportion of the U.S. population would help those who live in the free world feel safer and more secure?”
Here is an actual radfem take on prisons: https://www.feministes-radicales.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/Angela-Davis-Are_Prisons_Obsolete.pdf
Why not be mad at both? They are both criminals!!! Brock Turner not getting his proper punishment DUE TO HIS DAD WRITING TO THE JUDGE doesn’t cancel out that Elizabeth Holmes IS STILL A CRIMINAL!!! Why does it matter that she’s both a woman and a mother?!
i sure hope Brock Turner...and his dad...run permanently out of Viagra.
Rough as it sounds, only one person suffered due to Brock Turners actions (plus impact on family, obv), while many, many, many people suffered due to Holmes’ actions, prom ill people that werent properly diagnosed, to conned investors. The ripples of Holmes’ crime reach further.
She is trash and deserves to be in prison. Just because she shit out some kids doesn't make it better or worse.
