Please tell me your thoughts on this and make me feel normal.
I watched a video and I didn't know how truly upset the guy was until a commenter pointed out that he cracked his neck. I thought he was just releasing tension??? I know I struggle with determining some social cues/ gestures so I guess everyone else (irl and online) knew this emotion tell.
It then hit me that I've never seen a woman crack her neck to display anger. Like ever. Maybe a few times before a fight was obviously about to occur, but never in a "I'm kinda upset rn" kinda way. I think it's a way for men to lord their physical advantage over women and subordinate men around them.
What do you think?
(I don't stan this group beyond liking a few songs but I love the fandom so...lol)
I never knew about it either, honestly it doesn't feel like it has to be related to anger, it seems to me more related to men trying to look cool or tough, I don't know who came to decide it was a universal anger sign.
Men usually show anger in more obvious ways since they have little control over their emotion, just looking at their face is enough to know so it doesn't matter that much if you can't tell these random gestures. 😅
I think those kinds of nervous tics are particular to individual people. Some things are obvious and common, like if someone is nervous they might fidget, or if theyre relaxed they'll look relaxed.
But it's not a set of predictable behaviors you can memorize. And theres no science behind "body language analysis".
