I love brewing coffee in a French Press. Recently I thought I'd experiment with putting some lavender in the coffee grounds, and I liked it! I have to figure out the best ratio though, and I'm sure the type of coffee makes a difference. I usually like an espresso roast.
I was wondering if anyone else puts herbs in their coffee? If so which ones? And what type of coffee?
Or in absence of herbs, how do you like to dress up your coffee (if at all)? I'm looking to dress up my morning beverage routine.
I like adding camomile to by coffee. It doesn’t really affect the flavor, but I find the caffeine and camomile combination really improves my focus throughout the day.
On school work/study days I add a heaping tablespoon of a medicinal mushroom blend and raw cacao into my coffee. The blend consists of reishi, lions mane, turkey tail, cordyceps and chaga. The raw cacao just makes it taste like hot chocolate but and the mushroom blend adds a mellow, focused effect. Obviously not herbs, but an amazing combination of all around goodness.
Adaptogenic herbs such as holy basil, ashwaganda and rhodiola have done wonders for my mental, physicial and spiritual health. I make sure I take these on a daily basis in either capsules or in tea.
I like star anise and cardamom (not together).
My mom adds chicory to her coffee and loves it.
I don't drink coffee. But I do drink this stuff every morning with a bit of maple syrup and it has the same effect on my system but without the caffeine.
Yes! Fresh herbs and spices like lavender, cinnamon, cardamom taste great.
I would also recommend a few drops of rose water in your coffee once it's brewed. You can get it at an Indian store. Would probably taste best with a light or medium roast coffee.
Vanilla extract, fancy creamers (would recommend the brand Nutpods or Elmhurst), unusual milks (I love macadamia nut milk in a latte), maple syrup, agave, etc. I've also bought a few of the syrups that coffee shops use online. I love the Monin brand toasted marshmallow syrup.
I like spices in my tea. My to go is green tea + star anise + cinnamon + ginger + aged limes.
I thought this was gonna be about weed
