Exercising for butt post: beware, very dumb post I apologize I just need advice.
Okay so I have a square butt, I'm trying to just get a rounder one so I can feel powerful over other people as a part of my levelling up process. (Sounds narcissistic I know.)
People look at my butt and I've been sexually harassed many times over it. Once I take pictures of it it just looks dumb and square.
Is my mindset about this wrong? Am I using the wrong motivation?
What also doesn't help is that my mom obsesses about beauty and by proxy I also kinda obsess about it even when I find males to be absolutely subhuman.
Even when I work out and look at my ass the only thing I can think about are the douchebags from my old job, like I can't separate their hypothetical opinions from my body even though they're ugly af and not worth anything to me.
Am I just super insecure? Is wanting a heart shaped butt normal? I also can't stop thinking about this 36 year old man that said "Your butts not even that great anyway" after I rejected him when I was 16. I know he was probably just trying to manipulate me but I want to have the most control over lv people in this area by being as pretty I can be. I want the crackheads to leave me alone and I want drivers to actually let me cross a damn bike trail. (Even though I am attractive I swear the males specifically can't even let people cross, it's pathetic.)
I can do 200lb hip thrusts (5 sets of 10 reps)
Weighted hip abductions:
150 lbs (6 sets of 15 reps + 10 last few reps)
I can do 150lb front squat machines (20 sets of 10 reps)
I was doing 360 lb leg presses and i think it made my ass look okay but it was tiring AF and I had viens showing on my legs from it and now I'm back down to 180 and I feel like a loser 😔
I can't do barbell squats well because I don't like when men stare at my ass while I'm doing it and I need to buy knee braces, I can only do 30lbs of these and I get very tired doing them, heart beats too fast and I get dizzy (I feel like a failure because of that too.)
My ass still isn't that desired heart shape and I'm getting tired /too busy to keep up. (Work and college starting soon...Also crushing Duolingo)
I recently got a discounted stationary bike (it was an old display, original price was 700$ and the guy gave it to me for 100$ if I had my tools to dissemble it.) I was so fuckin happy and I spend an hour on it each day burning about 980 calories.
I'm worried the bike is making my butt more square? Idk if that's a thing.
I feel like an absolute goober and I'm worried I'm wasting my time, maybe it's not possible and it's simply insecurity based.
Or maybe I'm getting standards from porn and models and I'm upset I'm not living up to those standards?
I could add Romanian deadlifts but those fucked my back up last time and I also get tired doing them.
I don't want to spend money on a trainer as the ones here are all male but also I'm just cheap and I swear that gym only hires hot people.
Anything big barbell related my energy literally leaves my body, like a dementor sucking my soul out. I could start smaller on them I guess? But I'm super impatient and humping the air / deep squatting around a bunch of sweaty men just feels awkward. Also once I get dizzy and tired I accidentally just start looking at people and I'm worried they get the wrong message, I get so delirious that I don't even think about it and it's just awkward. I also hate when people come to my machine to grab an extra weight while I'm humping 200lbs but they don't do that to a guy? And it's distracting AF because I'm looking right at them, I hate that shit.
Anyway yeah I just need to know if I'm missing something or if my goal is just absolutely unattainable and some of you have tried before. Maybe it's internalized misogyny and I'm applying unrealistic standards to myself. Maybe it's impossible or impossible to maintain once I get it.
I do not have any knowledge or advice about this topic.
I do wish you all the best in your journey.
But just a reminder- all booties are good booties, even yours ❤️
I think you need to stop obsessing over this and start loving yourself. Why are you trying to change who you are? And for who? You are clearly impacted by society’s standards which is misogynistic. The best thing you can do for yourself is to be healthy and active without obsessing over your looks:
I don't think anyone can change their basic shape. Sorry. Perhaps you should find a personal trainer for this specific kind of advice, but I think they would tell you the same.
You can tone your muscles and make your general shape more athletic, but you gotta work with what you got.
I know it's not the same, but I have large breasts which is what people notice about me. I think at my lowest weight of just under 10st they were EE. Now I am fatter and so they are bigger than I know, because I stopped wearing bras!
It sucks having something about you that feels freakishly different.
I can tell you whaat helped me in the hope it could help you...
Bodies are amazing. We can move to where we want to go, feel the touch of a lover or a friend, look at the beautiful blue sky, and feel the rain on our skin. Your body is amazing and it does so much for you. There are so many wonderful things we can do and experince in life because of our bodies, yet we put so much effort into hating them. Thank it for what it does for you. Love it, and it will love you back. Work out because it feels good and makes you stronger (and you are STRONG). Working out should be self care, it's not a punishment.
And if it helps... I bet the men wish they had an arse like yours. Theirs are usually so unattractively flat. :)
LOL i feel you, sis! i also have a square butt. i can back squat 230# and front squat 195. i can hip thrust 315. i've been lifting seriously for almost 5 years. i am around 10-12% body fat, which is considered an essential level for women before our reproductive systems go to shit...
look at gymnasts: they are some of the fittest people on the planet: 5-8% body fat. they do not have round butts. if you look at the skeletomuscular system, it's actually fat that makes a butt look round.
a lot of it is genetic. proportions of bone length and width can't be changed.
angles in photos also play a big part.
yes, most female beauty standards come from porn.
if you want to lift more, make sure you're eating carbohydrate (and just eating enough in general).
but i would advise you to train because you enjoy it and it makes you feel confident as opposed to doing it because you want a big, round butt.
also, that 36-year-old man was a scrotus maximus and he can die mad.
good luck!
I think your butt shape has to do with fat distribution.
So it's likely genetic.
The exercises you're doing sound good to me. It's a lot of butt and hip strengthening.
In time you'll probably lose fat and gain muscle in and around the glutes and it could look less "square"
So be patient. But it's not a garuntee that you'll get your desired shape.
Edit: I just want to add, biking won't make it more square!
I go to the gym 4 times a week now. 2 days upper body and two days lower body(butt and thighs). Been doing that for 7 months and I have definitely seen improvement in my butt. It’s rounder, bigger and firm. I have a trainer who came up with a training plan.
For the back pain that’s usually due to bad form and you might need to get a weight belt for support. You’d benefit from a trainer who can create a plan for you and correct your form. You’d also need to eat a lot of protein and maybe get whey powder as a supplement. This is what actually helps rebuild butt muscles. It’s a lot of hard work. But I do believe it’s possible and I’ve seen other girls in my gym achieve same. The catch is you’d always have to maintain any butt muscle you build and it will likely never be as big as the bbl kind of butt.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong in trying to improve your physique. It helps with confidence.
I have a square butt that used to bother me to NO END for the same reasons as you. I play roller derby and skate whenever I can and I ride a bicycle to and from work 5 days out of the week for about a little over an hour altogether.
I COULD be doing "extra" but I'm just too tired after everything else as I am in the Florida heat ALOT. I have been wearing waist trainers or "faja"s for YEEEAARRRS and feel uncomfortable if I DON'T wear one (except skating, biking and lounging). I heard smaller waist could help with "square butt". I have blemishes and discolorations I have ALWAYS been insecure about as well.
Now, I don't know if it's my age (45) and the last scrote almost completely killed me (non -physical) yet at the same time he was such a pig for anal that it got me over butt insecurities. Something that also helped me is that I don't go looking or taking pics back there unless it's from the most flattering angle. What I ALSO do is just TELL myself I have a "round, clear butt" and WALK like I do. I just go a little delulu..
There are instructions by Ashley black are quite good, I can'T find the specific video right now but you might find it among some of those videos, it's about kickbacks with a stabilized core.
I too am on a booty transformation as my was flat lol! I started doing it for my own goals and satisfaction.I have a few PT’s I follow on YouTube. Krissy Cela & Chiara Pugliesi are good. They usually advise progressive overload and glute isolation techniques. For example; single leg cable kick backs. Plus how’s your protein intake? You won’t make gains without it I’m afraid.
I’ve been working on mine for about 8 months now and I have noticed results. Not entirely there but I’ve had compliments also. It’s taken me a year for some abs to show lol! I glute exercise 3x weekly. I only hip thrust 50kg (uk) and can only RDL 30kg and 15kg - 20kg on isolation techniques. Plus a variation of exercises can help I believe. It’s a slow ass progress that takes commitment. Plus remember that every body and genetics are different so we have to have the mindset of improving what we already have. Which may not look like what others have. Wish you were near, we could be gym booty baddies haha.
Everyone’s body is different, what you want is achievable but it depends on many factors. Your post needs more information. How is your diet? What is your height and weight right now? How many calories are you eating in a day? How long have you been working out for? You can lift as heavy as you want to build your glutes, but if you don’t eat properly you won’t get the results you want.
I’m not a personal trainer nor am I am an expertise in this type of subject, but I have been working out since I was 18. One thing I noticed that mattered the most in getting the wanted results was eating properly while being consistent at the gym.
It's not flat or anything but it's still not heart shaped, it looks like a larger version of those damn greek statues asses and I'm so tired, I go to the gym almost every day out of habit. I just need to know if this is all a scam or manufactured insecurity.
Also: I say humping because that's literally what "weight hip thrusts" are and I'm tired and I did't want to keep typing it, sorry if it gave anyone the ick.
Sorry if this post gave anyone the ick in general, it comes off as pick-me but I'm doing it purely for aesthetic and power reasons.
Maybe I'll Just watch a ton of YouTube videos instead of burdening you guys with my weird problem, I'm acting like going to the gym is like breathing air and most people can't relate to me 😔 I should just do my own research.
