Period. I hated the ending. It strained credulity that Amira’s father would ever find Ezra acceptable, particularly after that Vegas trip.

This. I loathe the prevalence of LVM representation in Hollywood/film/tv in general. But to make this movie that was such an opportunity in so many ways... and then make him so blatantly a LVM... it definitely left the viewer wondering what does she see in him? Yeah I guess on some level they 'got' each other, but meh. I'm not black and I was watching it and I was like she deserves better. Whether a black man or not. I did appreciate the movie though, in general, as obviously its an important conversation in our current times. /the execution could have been MUCH better.
