Thanks to someone on here, I heard about the movie Women Talking. I read the book and watched the movie. It was amazing.
And can I just point out the name of the movie - Women Talking. If there's any movie a man wouldn't want to watch, it's one with that title 😂
There's a TW for the movie - they don't focus on the abuse - but it is mentioned as it directs the action for the movie.
I loved this movie too. It was painful to see the mental gymnastics of some of the women, brainwashed by the patriarchy to stay and put up with the men’s depravity. But the courage of the others to leave, was inspiring. And all the women’s willingness to work together to find a solution, was beautiful to behold.
Two things I hated:
The women were trying to figure out how to rebuild their lives after MALE DEPRAVITY destroyed them; men ruin everything they touch
The guy in the movie was unnecessary. They should’ve left him out, he was an annoying distraction IMO
