Currently rewatching the show The Mindy Project by Mindy Kaling on Netflix. GOD why did I not remember that there's not a single HVM/even normal guy on this show?! They're all terrible!
Especially Danny. He's promoted as her main love interest yet he constantly negs her, criticizes her and her body, sends mixed signals, complains about her wanting to wait to have sex, etc. And apparently one episodes plot surrounds him "accidentally" sticking it in "the wrong hole" 🤢
Whyyyyyy is there not a single HVM in this entire show?! Why is every love interest so NV/LV 😭 I liked this show when I was younger but now I can't believe what I'm watching.
On a more positive note, anyone have tv/movie recs that DO feature HVM or just don't center men at all?
Mindy Kaling is the biggest fraud and pickme. I can’t stand a single thing she does and have no idea how it gets green lighted. I also know someone she went to college with who says immediately after The Office hired her she cut out every single person she used to know, in a Fuck You I’m Hollywood Now move.

I actually really love Mindy Kaling after reading both of her books. I applaud her for her success, especially coming from her background as a minority woman. She wrote a lot about the obstacles she faces in Hollywood (from men) such as being too overweight, "women can't be funny," etc. Personally I think she's hilarious. But, I tried getting into The Mindy Project and just couldn't. Danny's character immediately gave me major ick and I lost interest
I tried watching the mindy project when it first started and I just couldn’t! It was so bad. I really liked the office, and loved Kelly so I REALLY wanted to like the mindy project. I gave up after one season. All it reminded me of is if Kelly became a doctor. I think Mindy Kaling only knows how to write herself into things even if it doesn’t work well in the context of the show. I’ve tried watching her other shows since and they’re all bad. I haven’t even tried watching this scooby doo one. Usually I give things a chance but I know it’s bad.
Overall I don’t think she writes characters very well. Especially women, they’re all pick me’s. She always seems to have a character that is a stand in for herself who is always the biggest pick me of them all.
Mindy Kaling stuff in general is just bad.
Honestly I thought the office, who she was a writer and producer for, was terrible.
This latest scooby doo cartoon, who Mindy Kaling is also involved in, is bombing and apparently is really offensive and makes no sense.
I remember watching some of the Mindy project and thinking it was watchable but I bet I wouldn't now. Sounds awful.
Kinda wonder if Mindy's dating life is the same pickme shit as her characters. Idk celebs that well so. Office was ok, everything else sucked.
I’ve never watched any of the shows she’s been involved in or know anything about her personal life, besides that she has two children from sperm donation and I think that’s pretty cool.
