Has anyone watched it?
I like the diverse and multi-dimensional female characters in the show.
I also like how it highlights the complexity of DV. I really relate to the main character, when she lies in anticipation and uncertainty of her ex/boyfriend coming home. And also when her fellow DV victim is out in public and pretends not to know the main character.
I would really like to see more movies and shows that depicts the hardships that women face – it is so incredibly validating to watch.
I could not re-watch that. It was too real and utterly heart breaking. I felt messed up foe several weeks after watching.
Yes, it was a really good show! It covers so many problems women face - abusive men, single motherhood, men who be nice to you but probably have an agenda (nate), the higher class workaholic woman struggling to adapt to motherhood, and the labour intensive jobs women have to do when on little to no income.
The (spoiler) episode about the boy in the woods really creeped me out though!! i was so disturbed when she got locked in the closet.
I started this show but had to stop. I was so AFRAID when she was house sitting and invited that man over. I couldn’t handle it if she was caught by the owner. She was already going through so much, I couldn’t handle watching more pain for her.
Was she? If not - I’ll keep watching.
Ugh - and her mom is exactly like my mom. Triggering. 😣
