This is a must watch on Netflix!!! I will post my opinion and pint of view on here later as I would like to open a discussion post for this and hear other queens opinions.
Let me know your thoughts if you have watched it already and if you didn't, please do 😉
Just watched it! Very complex for sure. I started off feeling very sorry for her, and a little bit angry with her for staying with a man so dastardly to her kids. And as it went on it got more nuanced. She was horribly battered and angry, and abused. And I also believe she was violent in her own way and unleashed her rage on less physically intimidating people, especially the women she was jealous of. I never heard her say she was scared to leave him, just scared he would strangle her if she stayed. I think she was also a PickMe who put Ray’s ‘love’ and male validation over her and her kids welfare. Those poor children have been so horribly marred by her poor choices. She put up with the abuse to her and her kids, but the infidelity was where she drew the line, because she prioritized his devotion over everything else. I think she wanted her pound of flesh- the second shot was intended to finish him off and was completely unnecessary. She was a marine, a good shot and had training. I don’t believe she would have killed him because of the abuse, I believe she would have left. But killed him because of the infidelity. I think 25yrs was too steep because she WAS horrifically abused. I think she should have gotten 5-10yrs, solely because there was no eminent danger. Should she have killed him the moment he laid a belt to her children? Yes. I don’t think the steroids did either of them any favors. And she had terrible lawyers. Terrible.
I watched it! It was really good, I def liked Sally the whole time. To see how defensive all the men were and how qualified their answers were as soon as their stories were challenged was pretty disgusting. I believed the kids 1000%
Side note, why do men have so many disgusting sexual fetishes?? 🤢 Sally made most of her money from wrestling men in hotel rooms.. the daughter was rightfully disturbed by it.
I just watched it. I found it very sad. Two victims of abuse as children grew into very broken, insecure violent people. I feel like one of them was inevitably going to kill the other.
Ultimately, I think she killed him out of jealousy, rather than fear or survival. So I think the verdict and sentence were fair.
