Paul T Goldman is a new docu-series on Peacock about an extremely LVM man who begins obsessively investigating his ex-wife when they get divorced. This guy's entire personality is a walking red flag. The story is mainly about his second wife, but we find out during the series that his first wife was literally a mail order bride from Russia. The show opens with his first date with his second wife who he met on a dating site. The guy shows up to the date with his kid from his first marriage. He said that he always brought his son so that he could "meet his new mommy." He literally buys his first wife, and when that didn't work out he tries to do it again. Even though she is on her phone the entire date, and she tells him upfront she only has time for a "part time relationship" and only sees him on certain days of the week for the entirety of it, he proposes to her after THREE MONTHS and they get married. She soon starts asking him to put the house in her name, and starts asking him to write her sketchy checks, etc. She's obviously been scamming him the entire time but he's too oblivious to see it. He was not willing to give a relationship enough time to build a meaningful connection, just looking to lock in a pretty housewife as soon as he could, regardless of any romantic feelings because he so desperately wanted a bangmaid to mother his child. The guy says so many appalling misogynistic things about women during the show that I couldn't even keep track of them. The sketchy checks aren't even why he divorced her. He didn't divorce her until she stopped having sex with him.
That's the start of it, but now SPOILERS AHEAD
This incredibly ugly and weird guy, in some cope to deal with his embarrassment and shame, unable to face the reality that the only reason a pretty woman would marry him would be for his money, deludes himself into believing that she is some criminal mastermind and it's all a part of some grand conspiracy against him. He hires 2 private investigators and regularly consults a "psychic", and based on no real evidence convinces himself that she is the grand leader of a prostitution ring and involved in international sex trafficking. He writes a series of self-published novels imagining himself as James Bond, swooping in to save the day and catch all the bad guys in style. Then he spams every single director he can find on twitter until he finds someone to make his "movie." The only director who actually took him up on it is one that's apparently known for making these kind of cringy shows that spin reality on its head. The entire show is basically making fun of him for how awkward and delusional he is about his entire life story, the whole time while he is swearing all of his paranoid fantasies are facts.
The hilarious thing is he doesn't even have any money. He painted houses when he met his second wife, and he's working as an insurance customer service rep while the show is filming. Classic case of a broke ass loser that can't get a woman unless he pays for it, and then is shocked when she turns out to be a "gold digger."
Cringy show but definitely hilarious. This guy gets everything he deserves.
I need to add about bringing his kid to dates: that is absolutely disgusting. Imagine being this kid who thinks he will finally have a step mom, only to realize she will never return and he will not see her ever again. That kid will grow up with attachment issues--what single moms are shamed for and suffer from stereotype threat because. How many times have we seen a single mom breath in the direction of a hot man and then get slot shamed for "bringing a revolving door of men around her kid" yet men get to do this with 0 pishback. Also interesting that the conspiracy this guy brought against 2nd wife mirrors Qanon🤔
Male delusion can be funny sometimes. But seriously, I feel bad for any Melania Trump woman. The mob is a lioness for leaving.
