Anyone else watch this thing? I vaguely remember hearing about their data getting exposed - I never bothered digging into the details of what happened, but I had a good laugh at the parade of scumbags getting their comeuppance after this data breach.
Figured this documentary would be good for more laughs.
But no, this series sure try hard to make you feel bad for the cheaters. The word witch-hunt was brandied about repeatedly. Um... it's not a "witch-hunt" if they actually did the thing they are being accused of. Calling things a "witch-hunt" is based on the historical story of innocent people (mostly women) who were NOT doing witchcraft being tortured and executed for witchcraft.
The users on that website (mostly men) are guilty AF of being cheating, lying sacks of shit. The proof is in the website data. Some of the garbage took themselves out, but there were no false confessions extracted by torture, no executions.
It's still unintentionally funny, in a way. If I try to design something that would wreck a whole lot of cheaters - I can never dream of making anything as effective at doing that as Ashley Madison. They make bank scamming their users with bots, and then on top of that, it's possible they released their own user data (because the company considers any publicity good publicity).
I watched this today, thanks for the recommendation!
Grrr the “Christian” scrote who cheated on his gorgeous, faithful loving amazing wife…what a LOSER. It was infuriating to see, but also not a surprise as we all know that men are dogs and will cheat on even the most perfect woman.
And the Seminary dude who killed himself - the loudest Morality police aka religious people - can be the most depraved. Then they can’t handle the truth about who they are. So much so that he killed himself. His wife made me sad - “I knew he’d cheated but I wasn’t going to do anything about it.” Really?!? Insane.
And the dudes cheating was all about validation. So shallow, so gross and juvenile. Blech 🤢
Glad I watched it. Glad the company lost a shit ton of money.
