Ever since I saw the trailer for this come out, I was intrigued and wondering what kind of message or entertainment the movie would have. The fact that it is a Hulu movie should have tempered my expectations.
There are three twists that were predictable:
Protagonist smashes a clock, clock continues ticking
A tall lady suddenly appears in front of the car the protagonist is driving, tall lady disappears after a double take, next shot on the side of the car shows the tall lady
Protagonist smashes Grandfather clock, actually was assaulting her father the whole time
I think this movie aspires to be a pro choice nightmare about cultural pressure and fears and Republican ideas but it's not really thought provoking in the way A Handmaid's tale is. I found it watchable, you can put it on in the background though you might miss some plot points and have to scroll back just to catch the context.
no cats, expensive, brightly-colored clothes or gardens? it's a nah for me, dawg.
Can someone give me the ending lol
