Something that's been on my mind lately. If porn truly saps men of their willpower, leads them to have low self esteem, keeps them wasting time hooked to their computer, and reduces their ability to achieve anything... and women (at least, a lot of women) are able to be unaffected by porn; then surely, this opens up a pathway for women to move forward freely. A kind of handicap on the "male side", if you will.
In short, we have an opportunity here, let's not squander it.
Thoughts?
As long as millions of women and girls are exploited or are willing to exploit themselves/ take the path of deluding themselves that rape on tape isn't that bad- the answer is going to be a hard no. The patriarchy can't fail if men still hold the majority of power and women still want men to hold the majority of power.
I want to add that there's still a lot of misogyny in the professional world. It's slowly leaving, but nepotism and prejudice will always hang around. I regularly see trash incels crowing online, accusing their female coworkers of being stupid or incompetent to anyone who will listen, or if they're able to influence the hiring process, they make sure women aren't hired. All the talent and experience in the world isn't enough for some scrotes, The patriarchy is an ego crutch to too many men, with too little substance. In short, I agree that porn is degrading the overall ability of men, but they're already far too entrenched in privilege and power for that to make a strong difference. The effects of porn _could_ accumulate exponentially to where women suddenly are an irreversible majority in positions of power, but like another poster said, very many women also have to work through internalized misogyny that places men on a pedestal.
Never forget that porn is just one symptom of patriarchy, not the cause. There are many insidious elements within patriarchy that existed long before pornography took off.
No, it's the opposite. Porn transforms men into footsoldiers who would exploit teen girls for penis feels at everyone's expense for profit.
