I periodically check Reddit- it is easier to get news quick on topics of interest because Twitter is not as organized- and I’ve been popping in to TwoX. I’m feeling bolstered by the changes.
This is not to say that libfems aren’t kicking around there but my oh my, the radfem is ratcheting up there and, given the user base skews from early 20s to early 30s, it gives me hope for the future.
In the early days of FDS, TwoX was still a hotbed of JuSt CoMmUnIcAte and stamps of approval on a boyfriend’s bullshit. Again, you’ll still find that. But what I’m seeing is that comments and posts setting firm boundaries, and advocating against objectifying practices- no strip club visits, knocking it off with porn, etc.- are the most upvoted, and Cool Girl comments are not so popular anymore.
It’s especially refreshing as this sub has a lot of eyes on it….over 13,000,000 subscribers….FDS maybe had 250,000. I think that could be impactful. While I don’t expect male hearts to change any time soon, I have more hope for women being less tolerant in terms of what they accept, and that could potentially trigger male behavior modification, when there are real world challenges presented to men, in response to their female objectification and exploitation.
Anyway, maybe just some good news for the day.
I agree! Lots of FDS lingo in that subreddit, Reddit in general I feel. And especially in the parenting subs/ breaking mom, more and more women are not putting up with their lazy, useless man children anymore.
I've noticed the same on TwoX. I comment on there, and don't get down voted often LOL. They are waking up.
TwoX was my indirect segway to FDS, ironically.
I remember being new to Reddit and following a bunch of stuff, including the TwoX sub. By complete accident, I had come to hear about FDS on Youtube and people talked about it as something radical and toxic and dangerous. I knew it was on Reddit (that's what the youtubers were reacting to), so I tried to take a look for myself to form my own opinion, but I realized I couldn't access the subreddit. I realized soon afterwards that I had been banned from FDS without having ever interacted with it, and it turned out to be because of a bot (I think?) who automatically banned anyone from subreddits that were deemed incompatible with FDS's content.
I had never been banned from anything on reddit, I was mostly a lurker with very little karma and most of my interests were safe and pretty begnin, so it was quite a shock. It intrigued me a lot more than it should've simply because I was banned. FDS could have remained that "crazy subreddit" that I heard people talk about once or twice, and I would've forgotten all about it cause there are probably millions of controversial subs out there. But instead, it was the subreddit that "unjustifiably banned me" so I was kind of fascinated. I ended up unfollowing TwoX for a while, and then trying to check out FDS a couple of months later. I realized by that point that I had been unbanned, and that I could access the content.
Lurking there brought me where I am today. It was a breath of fresh air compared to what I usually saw on the internet and I agreed to its principles immediately.
Nowadays when I check out TwoX I see a LOT of Block & Delete and general FDS jargon (pickme, scrote, pornsick, and radfem views). There's still the occasional cluless pickme post but mostly it's what I see, so I agree that it has come a long way! I haven't really witnessed the evolution of TwoX since I didn't see anything wrong with it at the time I was following it, and I had to let it go for a while before I found FDS, but I remember wondering why the hell it was deemed as "incompatible" to FDS when I first went back to it, because so much of it seemed to be inspired from FDS.
I had been hating that place to the point where I forgot I even left it. I hope it will become a defacto FDS.
I've noticed this too. (Note I'm not on Reddit anymore, I deleted my accounts, but I do occasionally lurk on a few subs that I have liked in the past.)
We as women are getting FED UP.
I've noticed the same shift, but I'd caution you that the sub is still a waste of time.
I briefly reengaged there a few months ago but gave up quickly after a pickme had a rude hissy fit when I gave her advice that she asked for. Okay, enjoy wasting more of your time and being miserable, I guess.
The women there are definitely leveling up for the most part, but they still care way too much about men and even allow them to participate in the community, then are shocked they can't accomplish much because men harass them and police their discussions.
I honestly have been avoiding TwoX because of how pro male (trans "woman") it was.
I just went back to reddit too after maybe a two year hiatus or so, and I definitely noticed the same shift everywhere.
I saw a post where they encouraged a lady to leave her man because she was doing all the baby shopping!
i really, really hope so, considering all of the depraved sh*t going on, especially with women's rights violations, abortion death penalties and child sexual abuse material being funded by major credit card companies. without a concurrent increase in protective measures and education, humanity is literally screwed.
