I stumbled upon this link and have such a smile on my face at the women creating beautiful homes for themselves. I thought we could perhaps contribute our inspirations to help us all create a beautiful space for ourselves. It's sadly not a great idea for us to share pictures of our homes but it'd be nice to see what you've saved to Pinterest.
My current favourite book is Jungalow by Justina Blakeney. While I love her tile and wallpaper ideas there's also a lot that renters can take inspiration from. I counted 45 plants in my two-bed house the other day but when I look around I don't think I have that many.
I also enjoyed The Home Edit on Netflix and have bought the workbook/journal to make my home more organised. I did a major declutter a la Marie Kondo a few years ago but with a creative child, I need solutions for our baking, crafting, Lego and now inventing (think Wallace and Grommit).
Please share what you're loving right now.
I think most of you will think I am super weird, but.... I absolutely love vaporwave and I would basically love to live in a 90s mall hahaha. Pool tiles, palm trees, 80s/90s aesthetic decor, pink and blue lights, tasteful neon accents.... something about it is like wrapping myself in a cozy blanket when I look at things like this. When I move after I graduate and buy my own awesome place I'm going to make it happen, mark my words!!!!!!! I dream about this every day.
I agree with everyone else btw, awesome cozy thread @Bathsheba! <3
I love Jungalow and Justina!! I’m super into textures, patterns, houseplants, and strong colors—I dislike the new trend of everything being neutral.
I Love this post so much! Something uplifting and fun and not all about men :)
Am loving the richness of green and gold. Would LOVE a shower like this one day.
And I love the pink and black clean lines of this bathroom.
I'm dreaming of a home with genuine hardwood flooring everywhere but the bathroom and laundry room. Easy cleaning and so, so beautiful! I love the smell of homes with real hardwood floors.
If anyone is interested in the 1960s I recommend watching the Trixie Motel Series. I loved every second of it.
This is so beautiful :) Decorating your own place and maintaining it feels so wholesome 🥰
Don't know if this fits the thread but I love YouTuber Brittany Vasseur. She does videos about home hacks, things that can help you clean and organize your home, neat products and other things.
Absolutely love the photos from that link, especially the hobby spaces with the yarn! I hope i can accomplish this in the future. I've also been trying to organise my home therefore I will check out the home edit on netflix, im glad you mentioned it as making my home more organised has been one of my new year goals.
If I was decorating my home each room would have its own theme, overall I love the rustic cozy decor mixed with gothic styles. For the bedroom I like the gothic ornate look and for living rooms and hobby spaces ie bookshelves I like the rustic look! Then i'd make the kitchen and bathroom more colourful and botanical!
I hope we all get our dream homes
This is so lovely - thanks for sharing! Female spaces are the best :)
I love interior design as I’m slowly designing my home with beautiful pieces and taking my time. I can't wait to complete it as it's looking stunning. I'm into minimalist modern design with statement pieces. Airy, elegant and classy. I shared some photos above of some of the interior designers I enjoy.
Celerie Kemble is my favorite decorator - I feel like there are some definite similarities to Jungalow. Celerie is also a (recently) divorced mom of 3 so I’ve enjoyed watching her create her own new family spaces.
I'm the atypical female I suppose. My place is a mess, although I'm trying to be better. Some of it is due to chronic fatigue and the rest is just that I'm don't have a lot of femininity when it comes to home keeping etc. #not-Martha is me.
