All we can do is continue to spread the good word and build up our own personal financial security to buffer against male oppression.
If it makes you feel better, I truly don't think that women's ability to earn money and own property will be taken away if the current trajectory continues, for no other reason than that we are a valuable source of tax revenue and consumer base. Governments can clearly see that children are better taken care of when women are empowered financially. This eases their problems in the long term more than it is a burden economically to empower women (mothers) so I believe they will continue to do it. Child support and alimony will continue to exist purely out of economic pragmatism.
So, with that in mind, you as a woman will still have the possibility of buffering yourself against male violence with money. I personally have actively stopped caring about pickmes and what happens to them. The only thing that worries me is that eventually if enough women get fucked over by men and never get to positions of power in society, there will be no female advocates for women in politics, the medical establishment, academia etc. Then female quality of life will surely deteriorate, because men do not advocate for female interests. They advocate for their own interests.
So, what can you do?
1. Don't have children. Not even one. You probably can't afford to siphon all your resources into a child. It's getting increasingly expensive to raise a child and tbh I think it's cruel to subject a child to the challenges the future generations will have to endure. Like peak oil for example. Also, if you live in the USA, your earning capacity will be directly impacted by a child because you likely won't have paid maternity leave or child care. My mother works in a company and has had to say goodbye to many female colleagues over the years because it's cheaper to stay home with the baby rather than stay at work. Really consider if you want that to be you.
2. Save money and diversify your assets. Don't just dump all your money in a Wells Fargo account and let inflation eat away at its value. Unfortunately that is the world we live in. Lol. Your money is constantly losing value and you can never actually OWN a house, because you will have to pay property tax on it infinitely and the government will take it away from you if you do not. So essentially your house will never actually be "paid off." This is the world we live in: we need to view our purchases as investments, not the permanent acquisition of belongings.
Learn about investing in stocks. The Singapore exchange is where I'm looking towards personally but I don't want anyone to take my advice without researching for herself please. Same goes for cryptocurrencies. I invest in certain currencies and have seen really good returns with a certain currency over the summer. It's literally free money- not much, but more than I would make as a student anyway. Invest in gold, silver, and other materials that retain value over time. Not just like blocks of gold and silver. Buy less crap and invest in beautiful, valuable, perhaps antique decor for your home. Jewelry. Furniture. Etc. These are things that you can enjoy but also can sell if you need to one day. Same goes for real estate. Everything is an investment in this world, so you should view every purchase as an investment. Whenever you can, buy something that you can actually sell years down the line if you need cash.
One example from my own life is that I needed candelabras and found some very cheap plastic ones in my local store, but decided to order sterling silver candelabras. These are antique pieces whose value will not go down with future use. And you might say "well shit, I don't have the money to buy silver candelabras!" I would just say that no one really needs candelabras, so if you are going to buy a "luxury item" you might as well save up and buy something that can be resold in the future.
Cut down on disposable purchases and energy usage so that you can consume less and save more. Use rags instead of paper towels. Put on a sweater instead of turning up the heat. Invest in some nice glass containers for leftovers rather than plastic baggies or plastic tupperware that quickly develops scratches and nasty stains. I have been using cloth pads and a silicone cup for 2 years now which means my total expenditure on my period for the past two years has been cut by half. And the cup will last 1-2 more years and the pads will last way longer since I have not seen them degrade at all since using them. They're made from thick towel-like fabric and return to white when rinsed immediately and sprayed with a bit of bleach.
Also, in the same spirit as spending less on menstrual products, stop paying the pink tax. Maybe I need a tinfoil hat, but I seriously believe that products marketed to males are just constructed better. I started using male razors produced by Bic and I've been using the same on my armpits and bikini area (but not my legs bc I don't shave them <3) since October and the same razor blade is still going strong. My venus razor blades got clogged and started rusting after like one month. I also was hesitant to buy male pants for a long time because I thought they wouldn't fit my figure, but I recently bought a pair of men's black Levi jeans and they fit great. The material is much thicker and the seams are stronger. I had to tailor the waist which took 3 hours (I don't have a sewing machine here) but overall I can tell these pants were a good investment because they will last me much longer than my female pants, which start feeling seriously worn around the rear area after only like 2 years of use.
Okay so before I go overboard with savings tips (I need to take this to r/wgtow or r/WomenLevelUp or something) the basic goal here is to become financially independent, have a large savings comprised of diversified assets to buffer against times of scarcity (lost job, unexpected hospital visit, the "everything bubble" finally collapses bringing us into another recession, cough cough)
Women suffer more than men from times of hardship. When people struggle for resources, women are the ones who end up selling their bodies for scraps of food or bottles of water (Women in Africa are selling themselves for 40 cents worth of water right now) and you don't want that to be you. You want to have your own house, your own savings, and your own resources. This current Coronavirus ordeal should serve as inspiration for you to start taking this stuff seriously. Not every woman has the resources to do this - a lot of women truly do live hand to mouth in this economy.
That brings us back to point number one, which is to NOT worsen your position and cement yourself forever into poverty by having a child. We live in a society that desperately needs babies to prop up the inverted pyramid of demographics that supports the economy. The need for infinite growth. But the same society that so desperately needs future workers treats the women who produce them like utter shit. Like farm animals. Do not give back to a society that doesn't care if having a child costs you your job and financial future. Do not simp for a society that won't even support a woman's right to paid maternity leave and affordable child care. Women need to start getting angry about how we get sucked dry without any form of compensation. We get punished for producing the one "resource" that our nations desperately need more than anything else.
And make no mistake. The male-run world governments are resentful of these "uppity women" who are choosing not to have children. Do not think for a minute that their preferred solution will be to treat women better, and protect their financial prosperity from the greed of corporations and their fellow citizens who don't see the need to support maternity leave with tax dollars. Their strategy will not entail making men more accountable for child support - and an amount that actually covers half of childcare costs, not a mere drop in the bucket. Most women receiving "child support" are only receiving a few hundred dollars. Statistics from the most recent information from the U.S. Census Bureau show that on average, custodial single parents who receive child support get about $329 per month, for anyone who was wondering.
The answer from most Western governments to combat the problem of declining fertility rates will be attacking female reproductive rights. They're not going to attack the female right to work and pay taxes, oh no. Don't worry about that just yet. They want our money, they just want women to be stuck in low-paying service jobs which barely cover living costs after taxes are taken away. They want men to be unencumbered as much as possible by reproductive costs so that they can ascend into roles of power. All they have to do to achieve this is take away birth control and abortion.
Slowly women will fall pregnant and be forced to stop competing with men for power and prestige. An ambitious, smart young college student will be forced to drop out and work at Walmart because she fell pregnant and can't get an abortion. The man who got her pregnant will stay in college and can easily pay the required "child support" amount per month with a part-time minimum wage job. Which, remember, is only on average $329 per month...
So you need to prepare for a future in which abortion and birth control will increasingly become difficult for average women to access.
The likes of Abby Johnson are already convincing large swathes of the country that IUDs and birth control pills are "murdering the poor little fetuses" because, believe it or not, most fucking people readily agree that a fertilized egg is just as important as a woman and most birth control actually just thins the uterine lining so that the fertilized egg cannot implant. I just imagine people like her with real tears in their eyes contemplating this tiny clump of cells tragically sliding down the uterine wall with the fucking theme from Schindler's List playing in the background and I'm not sure if I want to laugh or cry because these people actually think this is worse than a living, breathing woman being cemented into lifelong poverty and dependence. https://www.abbyjohnson.org/contraception
I predict that women will basically be forced to choose between WGTOW and poverty and dependence. Be a spinster or be a wife and mother (for straight women)
I would LIKE to believe that straight women will collectively wise up, stop fucking men, and actually value their own fucking individual security but at this point I honestly don't believe any force on this earth is powerful enough to stop straight women from fucking men.
Just look at women who date men on Reddit. I would assume that women who use Reddit tend to be younger, more educated, liberal-leaning women, right? And yet they're still fucking men who have literal shit encrusted in their ass hairs who watch porn and insist on going Dutch 2 years into their situationship. Women have literally no obligation to fuck men now. They have soooo many options now. And yet...women are actually selling themselves shorter now!
I really really WANT to love women and believe in women and be considerate of patriarchal socialization and all that...but I contemplate a future in which women will have to choose between fucking men and losing their potential to motherhood, and I can't help but imagine the average young woman to go "I'm off to my FWB to fuck without a condom because that doesn't feel good on his peepee, teehee! LOVE ME AND ACCEPT ME PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE"
More realistically, it will be the fact that most women choose to center their entire lives around the males they fuck. The move in with them, share finances, choose to earn less money so they have more time to raise these men's kids, cook them meals, and clean their houses. And when access to abortion and BC is restricted, these women will have to choose between turning their whole lives upside down when their Nigel eventually gives her the ultimatum to either fuck him or end the relationship, or continue to have sex and risk getting pregnant and becoming even more dependent. What do you think the average woman will choose? Hahaha, it's so funny I almost want to cry. Some women will resist though. I will be one of them and I hope you will too.
In conclusion, my prediction of the future for women is that women will maintain our options. We will maintain our liberty in an "egalitarian" sort of way, meaning that women will be technically equal to men while in reality nothing will be done on women's behalf to address the underlying biological and cultural factors leading women to be poor, dependent on men, and excluded from positions of power. So basically, nothing will change, and it will be up to every woman to choose between the two paths. There will be no fantasy of "having it all" unless you come from a very privileged background and can afford soaring daycare costs, structuring your career around unpaid maternity leaves, and possibly having to pay doctors under the table for an illegal abortion should the need arise. It is terrifying to really analyze just how fucking fragile women's liberation is. It's like a Jenga tower and the base is made from three blocks: birth control on the left, education on the right, and equal rights before the law in the middle. These three factors are the basis of your current quality of life as a woman. Once birth control is pulled out from the left side, education will immediately follow on the right side, as women are forced to give up their career ambitions to take care of unplanned babies. Then women's rights before the law will be teetering in the middle holding up the whole fucking tower. And as women are slowly forced to drop out of public life and positions of power, the men who replace them in these positions can easily pull that last block out from under the tower and send women crashing down into the 1960s.
I am simply not sure how birth control will be targeted over the coming decades because there are two conflicting agendas at play. On the one hand, climate change is real, we are running out of cheap oil, and there is a real need to consume less. If rational, long term thinking prevails, women all over the world will be encouraged to limit the number of children they have with birth control and this will naturally lead to women's liberation. On the other hand, out current economic system is based on the unrealistic model of infinite growth within a finite world, and the demographics of Western nations and also East Asian nations are collapsing. So far, the strategy has been to replace the young taxpayer population through migration, but who knows if this will continue to be viewed favorably by major governments? If greed and short-term thinking prevails, I can definitely see the conservative fundies and misogynist angry single young men being pandered to so that access to birth control can be restricted. And then the Jenga tower of women's liberation will collapse. But, after all, this would also mean world resources would eventually not be able to support everyone's needs, so by fucking over women, the world governments would also be fucking over the entire planet. And I'm actually not sure that that will stop them. Again, I find myself unsure whether I want to laugh or cry.
