I would be curious to know what others think of this situation... I have a take that seems to be the minority online. I don't think she's a "groomer" at all. I think she's essentially what she described in her musical apology-- a kinda offbeat person who maybe overshared with her fans and didn't have a good perspective on what kind of behaviour was expected for a young YouTuber. Which is also totally understandable, as being "internet famous" is a recent and weird niche category that must feel strange to navigate. Honestly, it just sounds like she's a pretty usual comedian who makes jokes that would be entirely acceptable if a male comedian made them. On the whole, it sounds like she just didn't understand what to chat with young fans about, but it's pretty obvious that she didn't have sexual intentions toward the fans. Just sounds like she's your usual kinda awkward, oddball comedian. Her video seemed to reflect that. I honestly found it genuine and self-reflective. Her ex-husband came out of the woodwork to call her emotionally abusive and I just don't buy it. I just absolutely don't buy it. Reading about this online reeks of misogyny to me. Plenty of male celebrities openly behave in inappropriate patterns with younger people (Leo DiCaprio) and aren't being called "evil" or "predators" or being smeared. I feel as if women being cancelled and accused of "abuse" is basically always nonsense-- it always turns out that the woman in question made an incredibly minor faux pas. And the woman in question almost always responds in a sincere, insightful way that is lambasted online. I'd be curious what others think

This is a bad take. Actually watch Adams video, the shit she did was highly inappropriate and kids lives were affected.
Not you defending a pedophile
I don't think she's trying to groom children into sex with her. But she did act inappropriate with her fans.
I didn't know too much about her, or Miranda sings. I just had basic knowledge.
A majority of her fans are kids and preteens. I don't know if that was her target audience though, because of some of the content in her videos. I think that part just happened and didn't know how to interact with that type of fan base.
However, she sent her underwear to someone underage and we all know that's wrong. I'm sure she's sent lots of inappropriate gifts too , we just don't know about it yet.
So I can agree she's not a pedo, but what she's doing is wrong.
She was 30 not a “young YouTuber” I can’t get that stupid song out of my head for days now “the toxic gossip train” I learned from FDS years ago gossips primary function was to protect women and children from dangerous men, I think if you put that into context here, same thing.
Even without this she is exploiting her children with family vlogging, she appears to have bpd or npd tendencies if not the full blown personality disorder. Making herself appear cute and small is pretty much what all female murderers do in interrogation as well. It’s all done strategically.
I do believe her husband because I watch Adams content and long before he came forward others had been claiming the same things about her.
Her husband probably is lying for clout but she ain’t right either.
Female pedos exist, but I've noticed that they always come off as delusional, rather than predatory. While male pedos are trying to impregnate thirteen year olds to "ensure their legacy", female predators are more like "he may be a thirteen year old boy, but he's my souldmate, and we're meant to be together forever." Colleen Ballinger doesn't really fit that pattern.
I haven't really kept up with this (mostly because of all the misogyny surrounding the discussion around it), but people (young males particularly) have always treated female comedians as sounding boards for whatever gross thing that's going through their minds (watch some of Sarah Silverman's interviews), so I wouldn't be surprised if that's what happened here, and she just followed the vibe.
I can’t figure out what she actually did. It seems overly convoluted. No idea who she was before this controversy.
I have no idea who this is. After looking it up, everything that happened sounds mindnumbingly childish. But okay, at least now I think I understand why I've noticed an unusual uptick in people making snide references to playing the ukulele. I've been all confused like "what's wrong with the ukulele? It's a fine instrument."
It sounds like she's not very nice and she's embarassing herself - but it also sounds like that's her schtick. She's supposed to be obnoxious - that's why people found her funny when they were children. Have I got that right?
It does seem disporportionate to dogpile on her this much. I'm not getting the impression she was ever trying to get sex from her young fans. This seems to be more about people feeling like she used her influence to bully others into not critizing her? That's considered an abuse of power?
If that's the criteria we are using to define what a "predator" and a "groomer" is... hmm, there is a growing group who also regularly bully others into not questioning them.
