In a recent Spanish interview she mentioned that she thought Women need a man and a family to make her feel complete, She's emotionally dependent on men and it has been her downfall by the look of thigs.
She also mentions that she's enough for herself.
I always believed Pique is a scrote, He is jealous of Alejandro Sanz and she wasn't allowed to preform with him for any La Tortura live performance. She's not allowed to make any more sexy scenes in her video's and that's what makes Shakira's video's interesting. But I never truly had any evidence that he's a bad man for her so I never spoke about it on youtube clips and I wished her the best. Pique was engaged when he hooked up with Shakira, the woman he dumped forgave Pique and has no hard feelings towards Shakira. Another video popped up during her Waka waka days Pique's mother aggressively grabbed her face telling her to be quiet while Pique stood there doing nothing. So I do believe Shakira didn't do anything to deserve the split like heaps of men claim. They always assume it's the woman but always turn a blind eye towards men's behavior during a relationship.
Most celebrity women seem to be pick mes well into their 40s, it's sad as they are talented, beautiful etc and seem perfectly intelligent and so on.
But honestly to be that successful in that industry as a woman.. Some pick me thinking usually has to be there. The patriarchy loves pick me lyrics, videos etc.
I like miley cyrus's new song flowers, it has done very well and is anti pick me.
I think men need a woman and a family to feel complete. It's all patriarchal projection. A man who lacks those things is miserable and unfulfilled; he lives a sad half-existence. Unfortunately I'm not famous enough to have my opinion published in the media outlets though.
I admire her for being open about her journey. And that is messed up-so many men don’t defend their partner against their mother and I think they should every single time if thats a woman who is his partner. Men should always have their partners back but they get weird about it often when it comes to their mother. even if their mother is horrible. How can you let someone you claim to love be treated that way?
Sad that she has let a man hold her back from a career performing decision that she should not have felt the need to consult a man to do.
Re: the song
As an almost 40 Spanish-speaking Hispanic woman, this song comes from a very long tradition of ballads raging against the cheater husband, the favorite jam of the sad housewife. These were a dime a dozen back in the 90s, the only difference is the techno beat. If anything, it makes me nostaligic that big sad housewive balllads arent a thing anymore.
Sometime in the 2000s, Jennifer Lopez also relased a big housewife ballad album, if anyone is curious about how those typically sound. This type of ballad also comes in meregue and bachata versions by artists like Olga Tañon from back in the day.
Not gonna lie, the idea of becoming the sad protagonist of these type of songs have playing a part in putting me off marriage.
