My ex-husband has had supervised visitation for 4 years. I'm told if I wasn't in the picture and the kids were in foster care, he would have lost all rights after just 1 year. I've also been told, since this is a family court case, I can only terminate his rights through a step-parent adoption (I'd have to get married and have a man willing to adopt the children as his own).
