This woman's videos always bothered me. But now I can articulate why. I was initially drawn to her vids because I need another female video essayist lol and her topics on child free, the true reality of y2k as a woman, etc were in my watch later. But this video perfectly highlights all her channel's problems:
Middle of the road libfem drivel--She takes extra care to use gender neutral language, as if 1 sex hasn't enslaved the other seggs for centuries. "People" are tired of accepting "people's" mistreatment🤡. She only mentions women directly when she has to, and barely even goes into how that mistreatment goes. She literally says her definition of a healthy relationship is "one where everyone gets what they want from one". Well some women are told their happiness is in having 13 kids and serving their husband, does that mean she's happy? It's libfem all over again: 0 class analysis, just "do X and be happy!"
Typical media analysis content--I know this is the easiest thing 2 do, heck I would do this if I was a yter lol. But it's literally just the same thing she's saying.
Continuing the first point, it's like all her talking points were taken from viral libfem ig posts--in all her vids I've seen, its like I know I've seen these tweets and tiktoks she's getting her viewpoints from. I can't explain it, I just know lol. She just regurgitates Current Thing and I can tell she has done no real in-depth research on the topic at hand.
The surveys and polls-- feel very pointless. My guess is that she isn't trying to be a "general" video essayist like TRO, Contrapoints, etc and is aware that she's just doing light study for her fan base? Because otherwise the polls make 0 sense. Like we know that LGBT have hard time dating due to oppression and small #s and that scrotes are abundant. Again with my point on regurgitation: we are aware that male supremacists are angry at women's freedom, and have made up the myth that romance is dead to scare us back into submission. Your video title & the first few secs literally says this. So why a survey?

i don't subscribe to her channel for the same reasons, but sometimes i can still find a few salvageable things. like her video about housing crisis and how hard it is to be a single ~~person~ (🙄) these days. i rolled my eyes on some parts, but caught myself agreeing with others.
the thing with being a radfem and an FDSer is that we need to ignore a lot of stuff to be able to enjoy anything these days. like, if i watch a movie or a show, or if i listen to a song, i see everything thats wrong with it. it's bothersome, but i still manage to enjoy it because i don't take it too seriously. it's kind of funny to see people doing more of the same and pretending it's feminist and revolutionary. for example, i like a lot of tove lo's songs, but damn are they pickme material!!! and just the other day i found a funny cartoon with a female protagonist who's young and just kind of finding herself. but her love interest (because of course there is one) treats her badly most of the time. it's a 'will they won't they thing' permeated by 'they hate each other but they're horny at the same time'. it's stupid, but i got a good laugh every episode.
took me a while to master that art and that's how i manage to still have fun in this fucked up world.
i'm not saying you must do the same, though. and i agree with your points about the youtuber. i think she's full of good intentions, but the girl needs a shock of material reality.

Are you sure Bryony is a female? Looks like a man in drag to me. Brow ridge, Adam's apple, male palate and jaw. Many of these influencers are men pretending to be women. Just FYI.
