Edit: I also don't think Will and Jada or Chris Rock are good people. I only like some of these tweets due to the nature of the convo being around how Ashton and Mila exhibit hypocrisy by condemning violence when it isn't their friend, but supporting their rapist bestie : Danny.

Surprise, men can be seemingly good fathers, husbands, and friends - honest and respectful to their loved ones - and also drug and rape women outside of their inner circle.
Bill Gates also comes to mind as someone who has created a philanthropist public persona, but he has heavy ties to Jeffrey Epstein, and his wife divorced him over his unethical behavior rather than make excuses for him.
Powerful men do not get to use their other “good deeds” in order to cancel out the rapes they commit. And anyone arguing in favor of this logic also applies it to themselves and is therefore highly suspicious and dangerous.
Full disclosure: I never really watched That 70's Show and I'm not familiar with all the details of this case. However I just want to say that this part of Ashton Kutcher's letter really sickened me:
"I do not believe he is an ongoing harm to society and having his daughter raised without a present father would be a tertiary injustice in and of itself."
First of all, does Ashton Kutcher not realise that daughters can be raped by their fathers?! Secondly, is he seriously saying that Danny Masterson shouldn't go to prison because he has a child?! Thirdly, what kind of morals is a rapist father going to pass to his child?! I actually think that Danny Masterson's daughter might be better off without that kind of influence.
It's not just celebrity gossip when I read stories like this. It's the victim in me crying when I see any one defending a rapist.
It's the disappointed fan of that 70s show in me screaming inside because Hyde was one of my favorite sitcom characters, but I know to separate a character from a predator actor - his own 40 something year old co stars can't though.
It's seeing someone as famous and influential as Ashton being a hypocrite.
I've always thought he was an asshole ever since I heard the way he pressured Demi Moore into a 3 way with a younger woman. But my friends would always have to say, "he's saved so many people from human trafficking though!!"as wonderful as that is, he's still an enabling piece of shit if it's his own friend being a sexual abuser.
Rapists can come off as charming, funny, nice, intelligent, and charismatic to some people in their lives, including their victims at some point. They can be talented, "a good father", "a great friend". Rapists aren't a monolith.
They're not all dead obviously evil and they can have other endearing qualities that people admire.
It doesn't change that they're a rapist though. It shouldn't be hard to understand rapists don't tend to behave like terrible people all the time. But they traumatized someone so terribly, their victim deserves justice. Just because you're a father doesn't mean the women you victimized don't deserve justice, they were somebody's daughter as well. More than that, they're human and deserve respect regardless of being connected to a man or father,
I'm calling bullshit on this whole fucking thing.
Will Smith is an asshole. Chris Rock is an asshole. Jada Pinkett Smith is a Scientology Pick-Me who didn't give an actual shit about CR and instead yoked the publicity. Let's just say that right away.
Now, I don't buy that either or both AK and MK "didn't know." Of course, they did. AK and DM were the known assholes on set of The 70s Show, and KM was underage and played the stereotypical Pickmeisha. Do the math. The reason why, I think, MK and AK defended him is because they're afraid of what might (and probably will) come out about them once Masterson's been sent to prison. Make no mistake: Hollywood is pro-rape and incredibly misogynistic. Every major actor is a misogynist.
Remember the barrage of support letters people wrote for Brock Turner with damn near daylight evidence that he did it? ....yeah.....I know we're too lame to kill rapists, but chemical castration would be a great step. You know. If they're gonna act like dogs and rape everything.
Another sickening and unbelievable tangent is that Danny Masterson’s wife Bijou Phillips, who stood by his side during the trial, also has denounced her sister Mackenzie's accusation that their celebrity father raped her for 10 years. So Bijou has been a rape apologist for most of her life. First her father, then her husband.
This isnt a popular opinion, but it actually is ALL men, if given a chance. Your dad would do it. Your brother would do it. Your sons would do it.
Maybe not to you, but all men are predatory BY NATURE.
Yikes! That 70s Show has a toxic legacy to it now.
Wow Topher looks great with that hair cut and tattoos! 😍
