I only have a sample size of (3) for this, so I don't know how accurate it actually is, but in my experience, men whose mothers do not have pictures of themselves as their profile picture on social media--for example, on Facebook where it is normalized to use your own face and name-- are straight up Scrotes with a capital S.
Why is this? I have a couple theories. One is that it's simply correlation and not causation--there's a lot of scrotey men, and this is just a coincidence.
Two is that the son's scroteiness is directly related to his mother's self esteem, or rather lack thereof. She doesn't feel confident enough to post a nice picture of herself as a result of being beat down by patriarchal messaging, which also caused her to spoil her son and make him insufferable.
Three: Husband is a major Scrote who treats his wife like garbage and a) doesn't let her post a picture of herself (control issues) or ruined her self esteem (back to two, essentially). Son takes after Dad.
What do you all think? I'm curious to see if anyone has ever noticed anything similar.
Honestly I've seen men whose mothers flood their own facebook walls with selfies are also scrotes.
Basically scrotes will be scrotes no matter what family background they come from.
Posting pictures of yourself online isn't really an indicator of high self esteem. I see your point though, they're not identifying themselves by themselves which is interesting.
Men learn from other men mostly. They don't listen to mum after they hit puberty. Most scrote behaviour is learned and taught by other men.
I think mothers self esteem has more effect on the daughters.
Or it’s for privacy.
Damn. I can add another 1 to this sample size (my mother and brother). My mother treats me like crap and my brother like a little perfect angel.
