I fix my own car and The neighbours car without a problem. I rather figure things out myself than allow men to come closer. The last thing I need is the uncomfortable position I’ll be in when he has a sex request for being a nice guy.
I would like to find a female plumber in the first place. I can do basic plumbing, but often I need someone with stronger gear. And the building could sue me if I don't use a professional and there are deeper problems than a clogged toilet or a showerhead change.
"Take out the trash" like it's difficult! Hahahahaha! But yeah, they act like mowing the lawn, weeding the garden, fixing a sink, or setting a mousetrap all require BIG MANLY MUSCLES. How on earth do they think women living alone manage to run their households?
I think I know why, though.... those men have such a mental dichotomy of "male/female tasks" that they simply don't do the ones they consider "female." I've known far too many single men who apparently can't wash a dish, run a vacuum, plan a week's meals, or dress in clean, whole clothing. So they must assume that single women just can't/don't do the so-called "male" tasks. Poor women, living in all these pest-infested houses with overgrown lawns, broken faucets, overflowing trashcans, and clogged gutters, driving on flat tires... oh wait, I actually DO know men who live that way! (Oddly enough, I don't know ANY women who live that way! LOL!)
I know a man who just drives on flats and buys new tires instead of... Airing them up every couple months. Lol. Same guy only mows when the city is about to fine him.
Anyways, today I learned that for 50 years women have just been driving on their rims, sparks flying everywhere, setting entire towns ablaze with nothing but ash and rubble left in their wake. Lol

Because yeah, me doing ALL the cooking daily, hoovering daily or every other day, doing laundry biweekly, and meal planning/grocery shopping weekly is absolutely the same thing as you mowing the lawn once a month, cleaning the gutters once every 6 months, or servicing a car (if you could call it that when it's not done professionally) annually. Of COURSE it is. Why didn't I see that before? Me and my silly tiny lady brain!
Comparing avoidable once in a while tasks to the every day domestic labor that literally fuels society proves how useless men are. But they won't admit it.

I live alone and do almost all of those things. I outsource car maintenance and gutters because it's far more cost-effective to pay an expert to change my oil and rotate my tires in his shop than to do it myself, or to pay someone with the proper gear and experience to scale my roof than risk injuring myself and being out of work for a while. Are these men pretending they never, ever, ever outsource labor? That's funny; they sure seem to enjoy dining at restaurants where predominantly other men are the chefs and cooks...
I can spend three hours on YouTube learning how to do something clumsily and possibly dangerously, or I can pay an expert. If I ever marry again, I will happily continue paying experts rather than expecting my husband to do it--but some men are cheap and insist on doing these tasks themselves. Then they complain that they have to do it. It's so juvenile.
I did everything when I was married, and I was a platoon leader in the Army and was jumping put of planes to boot. I did all of the cooking, cleaning, housework, changing tires, etc. I did all of the computer setup as well. I painted and stained the house and the decks. I gardened. These men are crazy if they think we actually need them anymore. I've been driving a grain truck since age 8 and feeding the cows since age 5 as a kid. Men don't even do half of these chores they want to threaten us with, and with the EV laws, it's better just to go get the pros to change your oil so that they can dispose of the old oil and filter properly. Men have made themselves obsolete.
Yes, we can do all those things. And it's preferable to do them ourselves, rather than "nag" a man for months on end, only to have him blow up because he "was just about to do it!"

Then they’d realize everything I was doing and suck up and be appreciative for a week or two before settling back into the complacency of taking me for granted. Now I just won’t live with a man ever again. If I want someone to make me feel small and insignificant I’ll visit my father, lol.
Also, all these working class men that he's referring to, they all have wives who are doing round the clock housework for their husbands and children and in-laws, while ALSO doing household chores for middle class+ women for more income. Women always do more when they get married and become mothers. The workload only INCREASES, not decreases, the further down you go the proletaria pipeline.

Men don't do the things they claim they do. And if they did do them, those still wouldn't be equivalent to women's daily labour. I just responded to one idiot answer like this on Twitter with "get over the Titanic, that was just the once."

In my country, several working class women do the things he listed for daily wages. I'm not romanticizing it. Capitalism has fucked the global south. But yeah. This person has a very skewed understanding of the working class.

i'll gladly do all of that for myself. i don't expect anuone - man or woman - to do that for me. i'm healthy and capable of doing all of that, thank you.
i don't even know what he was trying to achieve with that comment. does he think it's offensive to be able to do important day-to-day useful things?
LOL jokes on him because I was doing all of that when married ON TOP of the “female appropriate” duties. Men really just trying to feel valuable out here when they know they are not needed.
Did he basically make an argument that all he is good for is taking out the trash? I can pay for the rest of these services, if I don’t want to do/learn to them by myself on YouTube.
