I hold my hands up I’m not patriotic but I don’t hate the monarchy either, I don’t agree with it that is all. In the uk we are facing such social control and propaganda because of this death. I do feel for anyone that loses a family member and that the royals are good for our economy. I am a very empathetic person.
However, since her death us peasants are all subjected to rules and changes because of an old lady’s death. For instance -
Radio stations only playing depressive tunes constantly (seriously all day).
BBC TV not allowed to air comedy for two weeks (We aren’t allowed to laugh basically).
Bus stop shelters, bill boards have the queen on them. Every single one!
Businesses/activities closing in respect so most services are restricted.
Changing appointments with businesses if your appointment is on the day of the queens funeral.
TV is bombarded with it. Even backgrounds for tv channels or services have her on.
I may have missed other instances if anybody wants to add.
I may sound harsh to some but nobody is saying anything remotely against this. Only under their breath I’ve noticed.
Yes it’s sad we lost a queen who was loved by many. She was a good gal and she had cute Corgi’s.
But this death is going to cost billions and we’re already in a financial, economic, climate crisis!!! And let’s not forget all the travesty and deception in that family! When us paupers have a family member die, life goes on. Nothing outside changes.
But because we have a monarchy we must obey rules that have been opposed upon us.
Call it therapeutic or narcissistic culture. I’m fed up with it
Monarchies are outdated. I hope they die out soon. Nobody deserves to inherent that much money and status. They also live in a golden cage and can't live their lives the way they want to. I praise Harry. Who honored his mother by loving a strong woman and getting both of them the fuck out of that strict dangerous regime. Diana would be so proud of him.
I hear you on this! The thing that annoys me most is that parliament had to stop at a time where we've waited forever for the new PM. There are serious issues to sort before this winter. However, to play devils advocate, the Queen was 96 and two days before she died she swore the new PM in. There is no doubt she was already on her last legs then yet she got her arse out of bed at 96 and worked. I think she wanted to make sure after this procession that as a country we didn't have yet another delay. I feel for the Queen - she had a lot of advantages in life but she was born in to extreme pressure, fame she couldn't opt out of, constantly watched by media. She was given a calling at birth, expected to birth heirs, while working, while showing zero emotion. There's no doubt she was a kind of prisoner, even in death she had to follow tradition and rules (probably created by Kings - men!). Look at who in the royal family fucked up - Prince Andrew, Prince Harry, Prince Charles. All the women someone got their shit together!
Thank you for pointing out the true lack of a free press/free expression in the UK afterall. Until reading your post, I didn’t fully realize there is such strict enforcement, silencing, and propaganda after a monarch’s death. Part of me had been envying the peaceful transitions of power I saw Re: the new PM and the new king. Nobody tried to overthrow your government and overturn an election, unlike in the US post-Trump.
Don’t care for any of them. They've literally benefitted from a system and religion that oppressed women since it’s first inception.
https://www.instagram.com/reel/CiRoP33jf-e/?igshid=NmNmNjAwNzg= Queen was a pleasant front for awful imperialism, that was and still is responsible for ongoing atrocities against many nations. I do not give a hoot.
Honestly between colonization, the spooky WEF connections the royals have, prince andrew, the fact that they rubbed elbows closely with another p**o, their spooky connections with spooky people like the Rothschilds, their hand in Diana’s death, and other things I can’t think of, this family just really creeps me out. People judge that Harry left, but I think he would have been next to be unalived. These people have so much money and power and a ton of corruption to go with it. I am marginally sad that a beloved political figure is gone but that’s it.
Not sad. That family is evil and degenerate. And they killed off the one woman that wasn't (Diana). "King" Charles is buddies with Jimmy Saville and Prince Andrew's exploits are well known. Let's not forget the cousins they locked up in an asylum and left to die, never having visited or supported them.
Harry did the right thing but unfortunately with people being as brainwashed as they are they will of course hate him and brand him a traitor....much like they did his mum back in her time.
I never knew how much the Irish disliked QEII. I knew that bad blood ran deep between them and the English for a long time, but interested to know what is their beef with the Queen?
God I know, its ridiculous. I was on a night out and the bar refused to play music and showed news about the queens death instead. Listening to people mourning the Queen on the radio all day between depressing songs, as if they actually knew her or something. The only good thing is on her funeral we may get a holiday off work.
