My new friend and I work for a global firm and I met her while she was in an office in another country and immediately hit it off. She is so smart and incredibly busy yet she makes time to connect. We are on the same team in a high performing company.
But something that stood out is that she took the time to study me and made her intentions clear to make me her friend. She put time in my calendar for a coffee chat and SURPRISED me with flowers! She literally hid them in a giant paper bag and gave me a reason to look into said giant paper bag 🤣
It's the first time in my life someone bought me flowers unprompted and I'm 30! 🥺🥺 and then she just went into story telling mode giggling about the most trivial things and in that moment I realised what it's like to be de-centred from men and to truly love someone without romance. We are both straight women. I think I truly get what it means when our principles say "if they wanted to they would"
I just felt so seen! ❤️

When it comes to men. If they ruin things it’s not because they weren’t aware. They know what they are doing and if they wanted to be on time or give you a nice evening they would.
