I raise chickens for eggs and meat. This means I have both male and female chickens. The experience has changed how I look at men forever. I have noticed a lot of similarities between human and chicken socialization—which may be due to chickens having been domesticated by humans for a ridiculously long time. Example: humans have a pecking order, chickens have a pecking order —if one tries to break it, they are ostracized or punished.
Before I get into it, please note chickens don’t practice sexual consent. All sex in chicken land is r*pe because they can’t fly away like wild bird species. Chickens lack the mating rituals of wild birds where the male has to impress her before he gets laid.
Impairing Women’s Right to Choose
Why have roosters if the hens lay eggs without their presence? Roosters supposedly protect hens from predators —especially ones that come from the air like raptor bird species. Hens wouldn’t need protection from predators if their ability to fly hadn’t been taken away by human men. Domestication took away their autonomy and gave control of their lives to the roosters who used to have to bend over backwards to please the hens.
The parallel to humans would be that similarly to how hens can’t fly away if they’re unhappy with a rooster, there was a time women couldn’t have careers, open bank accounts, or own property —we were “flightless” and very little sex was genuinely consensual. For many women, this is still true.
The 10 Hen Rule
Did you know you shouldn’t have a rooster at all unless you have a minimum of TEN hens? If you have more than one rooster you need to have a minimum of ten hens for EACH rooster.
What happens if you don’t follow the ten hens guideline? If you don’t have enough hens your rooster will not only chase and sexually assault all the hens all day, every day, but he will also start to beat them up for fun. If you have multiple roosters and not enough hens, the sexual assault and violence directed at the hens doubles and, on top of that, the roosters will fight until one dies. Even if you have ten hens per rooster, the roosters are still very likely to fight to the death.
TEN females for ONE male or he’s a miserable, violent jerk. Sounds about right. Think of how many men cheat, how many men fantasize about having a harem, how many men have secret extra families, and how many scrotes keep “harems” of women friends in their orbit to have sex with when they’re bored.
And men fighting over women is ancient as hell (the Trojan War anyone?). Even when men are surrounded by eligible women, they’re still violent with each other and towards the women. Like the roosters, they think the winner will gain the top of the pecking order (I’m an alpha!) and they’ll subsequently gain all the women. Unfortunately for men (and fortunately for us), it doesn’t work in modern times because women aren’t chickens and we have free will and our own money. Men who want women to return to a state of no rights or free will are giant walking red flags that should never have children.
Preying on the Weak
When a hen is sick, the rooster will sexually assault her and beat her MORE than the others because she is too sick to run away or fight back. Sometimes the rooster’s abuse permanently disables the sick hen and she needs to be put down —rooster can break legs, backs, wings, etc. Alternately, when a hen is sick, the other hens care for her kindly —help her eat and drink and never leave her alone. They’ll do the same for the rooster if he is sick or injured despite his abuse. Think of how men statistically abuse or dump their sick partners whereas women frequently take care of their sick men and are the most common sex in caregiving roles and careers.
Think of how men single out vulnerable women to prey on. How a women in any lesser position than a man is statistically more likely to be abused in every way —whether she is younger than him, more naive than him, makes less money than him, has an illness or disability, has a young child, or he’s in any position of power over her. Few men can resist the temptation of power & control.
The hens seldom realize they could gang up on the rooster to take him out and all enjoy a peaceful life without him. They just accept their life of abuse like brainwashed pickmes who’ve never known anything better.
When There’s No Hens
There’s more… my meat chickens are usually all male and are kept separate from the females. Conventional breeds mature unnaturally quickly so you can slaughter them sooner. It’s not just about efficiency though. When roosters are young they are friendly and chill like the hens, but once roosters sexually mature the urges for sex and violence burst out very quickly and who they were is overwritten. If you let them live too long before slaughter (heritage breeds unfortunately require an extra 1-2 months to be worth eating) the roosters will start trying to kill each other like it’s Mad Max thunderdome. On top of the carnage, without any female chickens they start sexually assaulting each other almost non stop.
Think of teenage boys wanking until they break their dicks. Think of teenage boys fighting each other for no sensible reason. Maybe like me you’ve heard many moms share the sob story of “he was such a sweet child and now he’s a stinking, masturbating cave man —what happened?!” Now also think of how men behave in prisons… you get the picture. It’s uncannily similar.
When There’s No Roosters
Hens are happier and the whole flock is happier with a much higher quality of life the fewer males that are present. The same is true of human society—excess males are usually viewed as a threat to national security and can result in significant upticks in male on male violence, family violence, and femicide on top of being a financial drain to the economy. Many countries are currently experiencing surpluses of men and we are starting to see the consequences which the FDS podcasts have covered really well.
Hens don’t need a rooster to have happy lives. In fact, their lives are far better without one as there’s no daily assault. Roosters aren’t very good at protection anyway in my experience—many end up being lazy or too scared. Their only true usefulness is for breeding. You see where I’m going with this? Any livestock farmer can tell you how female animals are the productive valuable ones. In farming, males are expendable and low value. One may be kept for breeding a flock or herd, but the rest are usually killed. Female livestock are allowed to live for years whereas male livestock are frequently culled at birth or within a year. The less agricultural-based society has become, the more human women have been sold a giant load of bullcrap about the superiority of men.
Hen Lessons
The less men you have in your life the safer and more peaceful your life will be.
Men should exist to serve and please women and never be allowed in positions of power or control over women as it is the exception who isn’t abusive, not the norm.
It is natural (in nature) for male birds to spend their whole lives preparing to impress female birds. Meanwhile the female birds just live their lives. This is reversed in humans to women’s detriment and men’s gain.
Most men are fairly useless to women except for breeding.
In Conclusion
I know many women want to believe that men aren’t inherently r*pey, violent, power hungry bullies, but I’m not one of them. Do I think it’s possible for men to not suck? Yes, but I think it takes very good and careful parenting from both parents, multiple good male role models, and a whole lot of luck that their friends, teachers, tv shows, movies, and internet usage don’t undo all your parenting. I think the odds are not great in our current society as the men themselves have to WANT to not suck and actively work on not sucking.
My current opinion of roosters and men is that they are just walking sex organs full of inherent violence and any perceived intelligence is just an autopilot algorithm programmed to keep them alive long enough to procreate (which their peanut brains translate to: “have as much sex as possible”).
So ladies, to summarize, if a man is acting like a giant horny cock —dump his ass and try to find one who has chosen of his own free will to be a human being instead of a walking sex organ.

Note: when my hens are being abused, I remove the offending rooster. When a hen is sick, she is separated and spoiled so she isn’t abused, but I’ve reached a point where I don’t even want to even deal with roosters anymore. You can use female geese to protect your hens instead of roosters.
This reminds me of the common arguments of men
Women: if there were no men in the world, we would be safe.
Men: if there were no men who would protect you?
Women: if there were no men, who would we need protection from?
My family raises beef cattle, and has for generations. The 'leftover males' at the end of calving season are castrated, put into dry lots, and fed up as our personal yearly beef supply. We might keep back one or two male calves that show promise.
For our three herds of roughly 150 females, we keep at maximum 4 bulls. And we swap/trade those bulls out regularly for genetic diversity.
We do not leave the bulls in with the herds beyond season. They will actually kill calves if we did. The majority of the bull's lives are spent in a small pasture on the far side of the farm with other bulls, waiting patiently until they are needed. And once they pass their prime or have reached the end of their usefulness (either we need to replace them for genetic diversity, they become violent, etc.) off to the slaughterhouse they go.
I say this because I have come to the conclusion that men are like bulls. They're really only useful for one thing and since I'm childfree then even that is useless for me. The rest of the time, like the bulls in the pasture, I'm never letting them out of my sight because they are largely dangerous and unpredictable.
Spot on. I wasn't the only one who reached to such conclusion.
Men can NOT handle power, they will ruin every thing due to their emotional nature which gravitates toward violence, wars, rape and destruction...if centuries of men ruling under patriarchal system proved anything, it is that men are not fit to be in positions of power, cause they will destroy everything they put their hands and dicks on.
After all men did nothing but destroy civilizations and bring more chaos and oppression to half of the population.
I'm loving these analogies. Way too many bucks bulls and cocks on the human farm lol.
As a dairy goat farmer, I agree with everything here. One Buck services a whole herd. Bucks can be sweet when it isn’t breeding season but they are useful for anything- to stinky for a pet, dangerous in the fall, not good for meat etc. same for cattle.
Lmao this is a great comparison but also learned disturbing facts today. good thing I was only going to get silkie hens anyway!
also want to send this to any scrote who wails at me
There was one short story by Ursula K. leGuin where men are treated just like that, for breeding and violence. I think I should read it again post FDS
GREAT POST!!!!
This is a wonderful analogy. Thank you. I also now know why my single rooster terrorised my hens and ducks :s
As a fellow bird breeder (fortunately, a very peaceful, extremely social "Hens choose the males and this is how raising kids as a village should work"-species where all birds in the flock take care of the chicks together and all-male-groups will even adopt abandoned eggs and babies that are not related to them - or of another species that has roughly the same size - and raise them like their own), I loved reading this.
I think we can learn a lot from animal behaviour, both in terms of how it should work and of how males often abuse their power if they are left to their own devices.
A friend of mine switched from chicken to quails because you don't need a rooster with quails if you just have them for the eggs and she didn't want to deal with aggressive roosters anymore. Plus: quails are sooooooo adorable.
