Well, this just annoys me. What he's saying is that he's talented! He's not just all beauty! Personally, I've never been very impressed with his acting or looks.
I think he's trying to say that looks fade for men too but that's not true in Hollywood... they become silver foxes whereas women are warned they are over the hill in their late thirties/forties... like the talented Naomi Watts nails in this interview: https://www.stylist.co.uk/people/naomi-watts-hollywood-sexism-unfuckable-age-40/714540
It’s good that Matt is being self-aware that not all Hollywood ACTORS are Paul Newman (who, IMO, was good looking until he died). That plenty are Marlon Brando or Christopher Walken (who were handsome youngsters but later lose their looks), but keep finding work anyways, and should branch out into other types of work.
Hate to comment on a celebrities character because you can't tell, but Matt appears to have been faithful and grateful for his wife and marriage which is just rare in general but especially for celebrities. Seems he is uniquely sensible for Hollywood by all outward appearances. Sets a good example that I hope more will follow.
That’s such an amusing article. The whole thing is a bunch of quotes strung together to tell a story. But it does paint him as a good guy. The fact that her ex husband says good things and would never sell them out for a story is telling.
