Yeah, that's generally been my thinking too. You do make a very good point re media avoidance of the real issues. I've not long finished reading a BBC article about motherhood ambivalence and although it is quite happy to acknowledge some reasons why this might be the case - the crippling expectations on women to do it all, be it all, have it all - it stops dead right there, without any further analysis or exploration.

The unanswered and completely unacknowledged question throughout is therefore: so where exactly are the women's male partners in all of this, then? Because these pregnancies didn't just happen by themselves, and the expectations being placed upon women didn't come out of nowhere.

Correct, they can snatch those benefits away by create a fake financial crisis and there you are stuck with a baby not even the biological father wants to raise. Again, that question already been answered way earlier. It's difficult to fight if you're going to be replaced and you're only dependant on yourself to bring in money & can't rely on family (other people in unions will totally throw you under a bus for an easy out). That's a good question that's hard to know the exact answer to - but it stands to reason that when people are generally less fertile, it requires more effort to even get pregnant, which means a higher chance of people having children on purpose, and lower chance of people having children by accident.

High value men tend to be the ones who do things with purpose, and low value men tend to be the ones prone to making mistake after mistake.

So a generally lower fertility could mean more children born to high value men and less children born to low value men.

This is ideal and what I'd like to find out:
