"My cousin is one of more than 1.2 million Afghan girls whose schools are shut, who have no place outside their homes and no prospect for the future. I share her story to remind you that when you hear the Taliban has banned over a million girls from attending secondary school, these aren’t just numbers. These are my cousins, friends and classmates. These are girls with hopes and dreams and talents; girls whose lives have changed forever over a night."
Just remember ladies: this is exactly what a lot of men would enforce if they could in other countries. Don't think they'll only be content with restricting birth control or abortion.
However, this will be increasingly difficult for them to do as millions of us continue attain higher education, get good jobs, achieve some positions of power and influence in society, and of course, vote and run for office.
Constant vigilance!
PS: I'm not sure if we have any Afghan FDSers here, if so, but please reach out and let us know if there's anything we can do for you.
Men destroy civilizations.
