I'm more of a tomboy woman so the men feel comfortable enough around me
Oh it's like my past pickme self who thought this too! She is in for a rude awakening later when she finds that just because she acts and dresses like a man, it doesn't mean men are going to respect her as they do their own. Bringing other women down and acting like she's superior to them is not going to help her, either. 💀
Soooo true! I was a tomboy in my teenage years and I remember when I was in my mid 20s and finally getting into makeup/dressing feminine, other women who were tomboys (who didn’t know I used to be a tomboy too) would make the rudest comments!! Like the very first year I got into makeup, I loved it so much I was wearing it everyday (not for men but because i saw this as a new art form to explore 💕). This tomboy who knew me for 1 month said to me “I don’t need to wear makeup because I look good without it” She also said “I don’t need to wear makeup to attract men” and “I look pretty without makeup”It was all angled comments to say Im insecure and ugly without makeup, and she is superior to me. There were more but these are off the top of my head. In hindsight, she was crushing on a guy who was into me at that time so now I understand why she was constantly comparing herself to me and trying to put me down in front of him. But the amount of times since then that I’ve heard these same comments from women who are tomboys - is just mean and disgusting. Why cant women just support other women, despite our differences? We get enough hate and judgement from men, it sucks to get it from other women too!
I think some of the ladies who replied to the first thread I ever posted here had the right answer to this: they do it because they see how feminine-presenting women are mistreated, berated and degraded by society. So they feel as though presenting as masculine, and actively rejecting femininity and joining in on bringing women down, will allow them to escape it. Unfortunately for them, that has never worked for any woman, as shown by the prevalence of sexual assault on women in the military. (And our personal experiences as well).
Instead of calling out the men for being stupid around a woman with a cleavage (these are probably the same men who watch porn everyday but a cleavage is still offensive to them), she decides to take this out on the woman. This is why we need to be careful around pickmes.
Plus, aren't these dudes such cowards? If you have a problem with someone then at least tell her to her face. Now this will seem like "women being catty and problematic at work" when it's actually more like "men don't have the balls and need to hide behind the tomboy of the office".
Edit: someone in the original comment section said that she was acting like Carrie's mom💀💀 I'm dead
Why is it her business? If she is dressing against dress code, that’s her issue and HR can deal with it. I had someone call HR on me once at a company (it was few old bitter women) at the office that my clothes are very sexy LOl. I wore midi pencil skirts and short/long sleeves tops work appropriate tucked in. Very work appropriate but I’m naturally slim and curvy so any clothes on me are tight because of my figure and big 🍑… HR was laughing with me when they called me in and they just called me in to show they had the conversation with me but they knew I wasn’t against dress code. So pathetic when women get jealous

Yeah, I'm curious what kind of body type the coworker has. I'm very short and proportionally stubby, so any top that isnt a crew neck hangs low and cleav-acious on my lol. I'm constantly having to take up straps on tops and dresses so I can wear them without exposing myself. But man, I can't wear crew neck shirts every day of my life, so give me a break if a little cleavage peaks out, ok?
I hope her boss picks her and gives her a raise. Also the mentioning her family life at the beginning, nice diversion lol. Typical conservative pickme, always squabbling about what a married women should & shouldn't wear.
Pretty sure this constitutes as sexual harassment or something along those lines that Christina can take up to her attorney about this. I swear, this is why I'm so happy that more and more jobs are moving to remote, women should be able to dress however they feel (so long as it is within legal boundaries) as long as they get the work done.

Goddamn... Some snakes just like to slosh around in the pot
haha i went to search on reddit and all the comments were calling the OP out as a AH. i saw some FDS-er got awards for her comment! i recognised the keyword - calling OP a pickme!
There’s actually a ton of cool girl, pick me, and objectification criticism being levelled at her. Warms my heart to see so much in one place. Especially on Reddit.
lmao. Yeah pick-me, I bet the office scrotes are complaining. Honestly co worker needs to set her phone to record, make this brainless dolt repeat herself and then just head straight to HR.
There are a lot of issues here. First of all, the "op" (reddit poster who called out christina) is a massive pickme with a lot of internalized misogyny. Second of all, op needs to act their wage - I'm sure the company has some type of dress code and it's on management to address dress code violations and it's on HR/management to address issues when someone doesn't feel comfortable at work.
Since it sounded like Christina dressed like this regularly, it most likely did not actually break any company policies and did not cause actual problems. Because womens bodies, especiallybreasts, are not the cause of issues - it's the men ogling and sexualizing and harassing women's bodies that are the ACTUAL issue.
The fact that OP was making Christina's breasts into an issue - and then calling her out, was incredibly unprofessional. If there was a real issue this is something for hr or management. The way op did it was pretty degrading - embarrassing her and making more of a scene, and you can tell from the way op worded it. That's bad when even the office guys agree it was too harsh.
Op is an example of work pickme. Op is trying really hard to be "one of the boys" and it seems virtue signal-y to have her note that she's a "tomboy". I'm like imagining a puppy thats trying to behave well like the adult dogs like "im a good boy im trying to be like the other dogs to fit in and get picked!" LOL. She seems honestly jealous and butthurt at Christina for getting "picked" more just by being herself and getting male attention, probably without even trying.

Pickmes are threatened by other women.
