I love this movie sm, it's about women beating shit out of their abusers. It also abided by so many FDS principles like healing fantasies and how abusive men are abusive because of their attitudes and not emotional trauma. Felt like they did a lot of research on what actually happens in an abusive relationship and how women get attached or make excuses for their abusers. I was a little iffy about the end but overall I liked it. It is also available on Netflix US.

Absolutely loved it, and while us women were praising the script, Indian scrotes were seething with rage and demanded to boycott the film because to them, the film was hatred against men or something like that 🤣🤣
Will watch! I am quite honestly all for violence in the case of domestic abuse. I mind my own business but when someone brings the fight to me, it’s on and I fight dirty. Not gonna lie!
Also check out the Gulabi Gang documentary from 2012 (haven’t watched the Bollywood film) - women vigilante justice at its finest.
I watched it a while ago and I loved it!!!!! I’m so happy that they have movies now of women taking their life’s back and doing to their abusers what they did to them. An eye for an eye should be the punishment for every bad man.
I know what I'm watching next.
I really liked Daawat e Ishq too, except for the part where he encourages her to pretend like she gave him the dowry just for his dad's health lol. I always wondered how his parents agreed to the marriage at the end though.
I also liked Aaja Nachle. The heroine is such an HVW! I love her. But her love interest is too cocky for my liking, although he is upstanding throughout. She gives FDS advice to Konkona Sen Sharma's character too (although her love interest is shit and the radical feminist in me is rubbed the wrong way)
These two are my comfort watches- warm and fuzzy rom coms, women led, not perfect but not unwatchable like the rest either. No horrendous "item songs" and objectification iirc
Both movies flopped, which says a lot about general indian movie goers
