Hi ladies, we’re always talking about the red flags that you can identify when you’re swiping, but what about green flags? What kind of things should I be writing in a profile to attract the few rare, good men?
Attracting good men on OLD will always be a needle in a haystack, no matter what you write. Keep your profile authentic yet light (ie your hobbies, not how many kids you want or your job title), definitely don’t add any sexualized content, and then ruthlessly vet each man who expresses interest. Most will be an instant unmatch/swipe left, some make it past a few messages, and only a very small number will earn a date. In short, don’t tailor yourself to a potential HVM; rather, be yourself and then vet nonstop.
You're a woman, so you will attract ALL men. It's up to you to sort the HV from the LV. If you post something vaguely suggestive (e.g. holding a banana) it will make every single LVM send you creepy, sexual messages, and thus quickly show their colours (allowing you to block and vet more quickly). A HVM might comment on the banana (Do you like banana bread? I'd love to bake you some) in a wholesome manner. A LVM will go straight to the sexual innuendo.
Once on a profile i had a grab bag of emojis just for whimsy, and had a rainbow in there. One guy lured me into a conversation claiming he was looking for friends and we were talking about hiking and other hobbies. That lasted about 3 minutes before he asked why i had a rainbow on my profile. I said, because i like rainbows. He said something about thinking i might be bisexual and into experimenting and when i said no, he just immediately unmatched.
Men online are straight trash and liars, and they are unashamed about it. They deserve to log on and find nothing but russian sex bots and other men cat fishing them.
We shouldn’t be adjusting our profiles to secure the attention of a potential HVM. In my opinion the less the better, I’ve unmatched guys at a whim only to find they’ve been able to stalk me on Facebook and attempt to message me there.
The main focus should be being your authentic self without revealing too much, not fishing for HVM. Your bio should be short and showcase your personality/humor. Hobbies, favorite food/movies, current career/major, where you're from, simple stuff. Don't put what you want/don't want in a man, political stuff, and trauma. That's gonna attract lvm/nvm/trollsHonestly pics and vids are going to make a bigger impact than words. Show >>> tell. Like I put in my bio that I love creating art, but I also put up a self portrait as one of my pics. I love Halloween, so if I happen to be on an app around that time, I have a picture of me in a costume. I always change my hair, so there's pics of me with silk presses, afro, braids etc. Some sex appeal is okay, but absolutely no bikini/half naked pics/thirst traps 😤. At least one full body pic and a pretty selfie with natural looking makeup. I swipe left if they're only showing their faces and use a bunch of filters, so I think a HVM would do the same.
A green flag for OLD is that he doesn’t use OLD at all. I have never come across a guy that uses OLD that is not also pornsick and terminally online.
