I just wanted to share this video because I was so relieved to finally hear someone say it
I am so sick of hearing people say how Testosterone is what makes men horny and they produce 10x more than women or whatever and thats why their libidos are so high and they think about sex 58683200 times a day. That its "just nature" for women to be less interested in sex, less visual and have an overall lower libido - unless we are ovulating, for some bizarre reason. Patriarchy tries to tell women about their own bodies, that it understands us better than we do ourselves. Why? So men can control to be in control, avoid accountability and excuse the fact that they do not see women as human beings, only objects.
Basically this women says pure facts. The horniest most perverted men are ones who are porn sick, and use their biology as an excuse for their perversion, lack of self control and utter lack of shame in objectifying women. She states that it is not testosterone that is responsible for high sex drive in men but rather the consumption of visual stimuli and frequent masturbation. I can vouch on this from experience. My first bf who was clearly pornsick early on when I started dating him (I was a lot younger and quite naive), felt guilty about watching porn while in a relationship, and I could really tell that he at the very least stopped watching it so frequently - he stopped talking about women and girls like they were pieces of meat, including myself, his sex drive gradually lowered and seemed more under control and he stopped having porn induced limp dick. He even started having more feminist views and respecting women more (not all the way there though, he was still a scrote). Any guy who has told me the same BS about men having significantly higher sex drives, have admitted to me they frequently watch porn.
This myth helps patriarchy objectify women and puts women in the positions to be viewed as an object of desire for men. Men telling us we are less visual is probably also to allow them to look like shit and not put in effort into their appearance and look dusty af.
So yeah, I think this is a well known opinion on FDS but i thought the video was a good explanation.
Literally! The whole point of porn is that it makes you artificially horny. If you were actually so horny you wouldn't need porn to masturbate. Interestingly I think the feeling is very different to the natural feeling you get when getting it on with someone you fancy.
Testosterone just makes effort feel good/worthwhile- it encourages men to be active, compete and woo women
Men who have 'high sex drives' like in the video are just dopamine fried porn addicts.
I remember calling out men weaponizing mUh BioLogY at the age of 14. I even did some research and wrote an essay for school that detailed how humans do have evolved to be monogamous (mostly) and that cheating is NOT inevitable. I'm sometimes amazed at my former self's ability to see through men's BS. Sadly, pickme-ism caught up with me in my late teens and cost me about 5 years (plus the aftermath), but I was incredibly lucky to find radical feminism (again). Men are soooo full of shit on sex 90% of the time. Everything they say is self serving and designed to excuse their pornsickness. I remember reading an essay as a teen where the author claimed every man "needed" access to prostitutes because it was not in a man's nature to be monogamous, and women would benefit from that too because after dealing with their urges men would be happy to come back to the wives they "love". In a twisted scrote's mind, love and hatred for women can coexist, but of course it's just a delusion. That essay made me so sick I remembered the exact wording for years.
Fun fact: in middle ages Europe, the stereotype was reversed: women were regarded as lustful and sinful, and men were self-controlled and logical. And shitty behavior was still excused for men.
I also saw a TikTok a while ago by a woman who is doing a phd program who frequently posts videos about sexist bias in studies. There was a study done where male researchers had someone of the opposite sex ask heterosexual men and women if they wanted to have sex and all the women said no and I believe most of the men said yes. They used this to claim that women had lower sex drives. Researchers later did that study again but with a woman asking bisexual women and found the results were similar to the men in the original study.
